The Walking Dead: season 9 (open spoilers)

The day Daryl ‘gets it’ is the day this show is utterly dead to me. I think Norman Reedus has done well this season, after Rick was gone.
He’s no leader, more like a second-in-command . Who IS the leader now?..When ‘the Kingdom’ went under, and Henry was killed, that was it. Game, over. Fairytale romance, over. And couples break up after the death of a child all the time. (I wonder what’s in store for Carol in the next season?)…Negan has nothing to do and nowhere to go, out there. They might as well put him to work as leaving him in a cell for 7 years. Who is left to despise him, Michonne? she is on her way out of the series.

What the fuck was that? I got the Kingdom’s equipment failed, so they had to leave. But Alexandria’s failed at the same time?

They’ve survived for years, they can survive a few days in the snow. And why walk across the “road” to another house when there are plenty of people in the house it will stay warm enough. You don’t need a fire.

They walkers were dumb, half were frozen solid, the other half popped up with no problems. And where are all these places located? Are they separated by the Whisperer’s area? I thought they were half day walking at most.

That was a horrible episode, and the previous one was actually rather good.

I didn’t buy the snow shit either. I was always wondering what happen when it’s freezing. Do the Walkers freeze? Seems like it’s not a sure thing. And, unless the Zombie apocalypse triggers global warming it would never be a blizzard like that in VA. At least I don’t think so. Peeps in VA may know better. And I object to Carol and Daryl. Not because they rhyme. She is a mother figure to him. Anything else would seem icky. To me.
If that little brat Judith doesn’t get every one killed maybe next year will redeem some of the questions.

Bah worst season finale ever. Plus,

who was on the radio at the end?

Unclear…right?

Well that spoiler jumped right up there. I think it’s Jada.
Oh and by the way. Rosetta is a little slut. Three guys drooling over her. She’s playing all of them. The cute, CUTE Dr. Baby-daddy and her should be together. Forget weird Father not the Father Gabriel. And Eugene is just gonna have to find him a nerd for a girlfriend. It will take a special girl for that mug. I am glad some real human shit is going down. Finally.

Wrong town. Too young. They never met. And anyway, she got her head lopped off.

This seems unnecessarily harsh

It’s ‘Jadis’. And it’s ‘Rosita’.

So, was the scene with the Whisperers (Alpha getting whipped by Beta) taking place at a different point in time? Seemed no snow there. But I wondered anyway, so the Kingdom collapses under the strain the winter put on it, and the Whisperers, with no shelter we know of, are just fine?

Also, we haven’t seen what Beta looks like underneath the skin, right? Any chance it’s somebody we know? Is there anybody as yet unaccounted for, some Savior remnant or something?

It’s Rick. He died, but was resurrected and he’s all evil now.

I assume they migrate, like a lot of pre-agricultural tribes.

I just watched the last 6 episodes one after another. I’m not sure why. I can’t say it was an enjoyable experience. Subconsciously I seem to feel a warped sense of duty, to finish what I started - watching this series. But the suspension of disbelief necessary is as huge as ever, a problem I’ve complained about since Season 2.

The whisperers still seem like a stupid, unworkable concept for all the reasons I and others have outlined above. Enough on that subject.

I’ll also forego specific complaints about the choices of who lived and who died, and the cryptic and confusing (and monumentally annoying!) ways these are revealed except to note that there really aren’t any interesting characters left.

There are far too many additional stupidities, wholesale and retail, for me to type out with my thumbs. But just as an example, the last one - the snowstorm - was totally absurd. Yes, fireplace is plugged up, so let’s go out into the blizzard rather than stay indoors with all the clothing and blankets! It’s Virginia, not Antarctica, groups of people don’t freeze to death indoors. But hey, let’s go to Aaron’s anyway! Say, how far is it to Aaron’s? Down the street? Or in the next county? Duhh! Then there’s the varying freezing point of upright versus prostrate walkers. Apparently only a select few, who happen to be standing, freeze solid. Others, lying in a frozen river, don’t freeze at all! Amazing! Finally, we segue from this arctic storm of the century that is enveloping Hilltop, Alexandria, and presumably all nearby environs to the whisperers’ camp, outdoors, not a structure in sight, not so much as a wall. But by some fluke of the weather, there isn’t a hint of snow anywhere and the trees still have their leaves. Apparently whisperers are safe, not just from walkers, but also from winter.

I’m not sure if I can bring myself to watch this asininity any longer, if indeed there is another season. Anybody wanna talk me down off the ledge?

I think the Whisperers are now further south, where there’s no snow? There was a period of time gone by on the show, since the last episode … I think reading the comic or graphic novel is one thing, but portraying such absurd villains on the tv show kind of points out the absurdity of such a group. They are evil and hideous, but too many questions pop up, and just suspending disbelief is really hard…I guess next season we are going to meet yet ANOTHER community? …it’s not the same show as we started watching years ago, but I’m still interested as long as the three main characters are on.

Of course it’s absurd. I mean how long after the apocalypse is it no longer ok to walk around acting like an asshole or a weirdo? Our heroes have this network of organized, fortified communities and yet somehow a wandering band of whispering misfits are still a threat? Walkers are still a real threat?

What’s the next group of antagonists going to be? A former Cirque de Soleil troop that went insane and have now rendered the walls of Alexandria and Hilltop irrelevant with their unique stylish brand of character-driven circus acrobatics?

The Closetalkers? They aren’t aggressive or cannibals or anything like that. But they just constantly make everyone uncomfortable with their disregard for personal space.

You’re correct.

Presumably the Whisperers had migrated to warmer climes for the winter, so that ‘trespassing on their territory’ didn’t in fact matter very much.

Anybody have any guesses as to how Michonne will get written out?

(I’m pretty sure I spelled her name wrong)

And who are the three main characters exactly? There was a time when I thought that would have meant Rick, Lori and Shane.

Daryl, Michonne and Judith
