The watch the birdie MMP

A shrug of the shoulders for a meh vote is too much effort

Meh pretty much sums it up.

Interview unlikely to go anywhere- it was a mass ‘come in, queue, get documents checked, queue for next section, answer a few questions, queue again, answer questions again, thanks you’re now on the list, we may call if someone else doesn’t show.’ The email said it’d take 30 minutes; it was about 2 hours.

Oh, and just to make it that bit sillier, it was held in the football stadium I securitate at, so I had the odd member of their staff wandering through and giving me funny looks.

I dropped me boots off to get fixed (they’re splitting up the back seam, and need new heels), but didn’t get anything else done with the day, the ‘interview’ went on so much longer than expected.

Can’t be bothered.

Lots of departures from irk this week, including favorite lead (she’s moving on to a better job). Granted, I work in a job-training program, so it’s the nature of the place, but I’m still going to miss those specific people.

All those in favor, mumble in your sleep.

I’m trying out a new shrimp recipe for supper, sides will be rice and peas-n-carrots.

The temp has plummeted and it’s been sorta drizzly. ick.

FIL is doing well in therapy. **FCD **spoke to him this afternoon and he seemed to be in good spirits. So yay! We’ll be heading back there in about 2 weeks - I need to arrange for the critter sitter again. But we’ll do an early Thanksgiving with them, then get back here before the traffic gets stupid and maybe to more turkey with my side of the fambly. Or not. We shall see.

Mexican commestibles have been consumed. Mexican combustibles to commence at some point I am sure. Gettin’ all cloudy out so here’s hopin’ rain will show up soonest. My sinuses are all stuffded up and I’m thinkin’ that will help. As it is, tonight may be a Benadryl [sup]TM[/sup] and early beddy bye time.

Will a snore suffice?

I won’t be sharing the shrimp recipe. It sucked. You’re welcome.

My current knitting project is a wool shawl that I will make excessively huge, then wash in hot water in order to shrink it and felt it. We shall see how it goes. I’m grateful to people who donate yarn for my projects, but I wish they’d stop sending wool. It’s not practical for nursing home items. Oh well…

I think I’ll recline the rest of the night away. *** MWAH!!***

Next time, go for some Szechwan - some good kung pao chicken with extra pow can clear your head out better than any OTC decongestant.

No rain here - yet. Supposed to be rainy on Candy Grab Night, so we’ll have drippy draculas and soggy skeletons. Ewww… even worse, moist mummies.

Oh hell, I’m too late!

Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) made it last night, and it was good.
Needs more garlic.

We’re supposed to be getting rain for Halloween. Oh, well. The two-color light sticks on lanyards came in yesterday. We’ve given out light sticks for Halloween for a few years, now and they’ve been popular.

We had a little adventure getting the two-color ones, though. My son saw them on Amazon and we decided to order them. Single color sticks arrived. We sent them back and single color sticks arrived again. Amazon closed the entry when it happened twice. Not sure what they did with the vendor.

Now that I knew that two-color sticks were a thing that existed, it was easy to find them with Google and order them directly. (Not from that vendor.) I’m just glad the boy ordered early enough that the adventure ended with us having the right stuff in time.

Is it sad that I’m looking forward to seeing them in action?

If it is, it’s even sadder that I’m hoping for pictures.

Yawnnnn. Raised one eyebrow

At 2 tbls for 10 servings, I know vampires who would eat that.

Oh, Swampy, I forgot to tell you, there’s a commercial running on the local radio station. It’s Dracula talking about all of the bad things about Halloween:
1.) Getting candy corn stuck on your fang
2.) Realizing just a little too late that you used all of the TP on the Mummy costume.

Worked, came home, walked dog. watching hockey.*

Somebody once stole my financial info. They gave it back 15 minutes later. Sucks it happened, though.

What do we want? Apathy, I guess.
When do we want it? whatever.

“Meh” enough status for y’all?:stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 58 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 75 for the day. 'Tis also windy out. The high Sattidy is predicted to be 59 Amurrkin with a low of 35. BRRR! Then back to 70s for highs next week. Weather be weird.

Spidey one deserves to be out of tp if one makes a mummy costume out of tp. Everyone knows you use white cloth bandages. Sheesh! Some people!

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Blurf.

This thread has been lacking in juvenility. Therefore I will attempt to lower the bar:

What happens when you goose a ghost?

You get a handful of sheet.

Why can’t you give a ghost a BJ?

Because they have hollow weenies.

Why do computer geeks get confused about fall and winter holidays?

Because OCT 31 = DEC 25.

Feel free to add to this list, or run away in terror.

How do you unlock a haunted house?

With a skeleton key!!

Wonder who’s old enough to get that one??

Temp is hovering in the mid 40s right now. It was above 60° this time yesterday. And it’s supposed to get close to freezing this weekend. I may or may not work outside today. I have a little more stuff to get planted and I’d like to run the mower over the leaves to chop them up. If the sun shines, I just might.

We’ll be heading to FL again 2 weeks from today. I’m absolutely not looking forward to that ride again - I’ll take a lot of knitting to keep myself occupied when I don’t have driving duty. At least it’ll be a short visit - less than a week, I hope. We want to be back here before the idiocy of the Thanksgiving driving insanity begins.

On the plus side, tomorrow’s pay day, so there’s that. I hate being paid once a month - I feel so poor when the end of the month comes. But at least the money still shows up in my account. All the years I worked, I was paid either bi-weekly or twice a month. Bi-weekly is better for budgeting purposes as far as I’m concerned - semi-monthly feels too random. One of the best pay schemes we had was when my sweetie and I were both paid bi-weekly, but out of sync, so we had a check every week. Somehow it felt richer than getting the same chunk of money once a month. I don’t think I’d like daily pay, tho. Someone wanna send me $500 per day and I’ll see how I like it? Thanks!

And onward into the day!! Happy Thursday!

Up, caffeinated, off today.

FCM, I like the bi-weekly, too.

Back from a bit of grocery-ing and other erranding. We still need to get a new kitteh litter scoop, but we got the rest of the stuff on the list, so yay!

It’s dreary and overcast despite the forecast saying “Plenty of Sunshine” - yeah, above the clouds!!! :stuck_out_tongue: So I’m not too motivated. I may just break out my book and read a while, because I can.
