Met a couple cousins in town for the Garth Brooks concert for breakfast and a friend for lunch. Pardon me while I go have a food coma for a bit.
So it turns out coffee shops want security on a sattiday mornin’ when local anarchists plan to have an anticapitalist protest there. However, they didn’t actually show up, probably because it was cold, so shift #1 consisted of 2 hours sitting in the coffee shop, having a nice chat with a new co-irker. They even offered us free breakfasts, but I’d just eaten.
Football was OK, just back home had a nap and about to make dinner before shift #3. I’ll be lucky to get home from that one before 4am. I’ll reserve a blurf for tomorrow [del]morning[/del] afternoon.

Nappage has been achieved. Steaks are settin’ on the kitchen counter to come to room temp. Dindin shall be steak, asparagus, red N.O.T. in cream sauce, cheesey garlic bread, and brownies for dessert. I made brownies. Go Me!
I’m in Indiana. The reason for Mom’s fall was a massive brain bleed. She’s unresponsive and we’ve been called in for the end. The medicos are giving her enough morphine to keep her out of pain, but one by one, her systems are shutting
down. It sucks watching your mama die. 
Oh missred, I am so sorry. I don’t know what I can do from here, except pray for you and the family. But if there is anything, don’t hesitate to ask. Talk all you need to and let it out. Don’t forget to get sleep and eat properly, you’re going to need all your strength. Yes, I’m endlessly practical, but it will help you feel better .

I’m home, exhausted, and glad to be on my own turf. We walked around the motorcycle show for 3 hours - oh my achy feet! Then **FCD **fixed Mom’s lamp (he’s a good son-in-law) and I fixed the cup holder in her basement bathroom. We had a really nice lunch, then packed up and came home. Besides 2 big bags of yarn donated for afghaning, I came back with a bunch of glassware that Mom wanted to be rid of plus 3 rings or Polish sausage. Yum!
Shortly, I will don my robe and assume recline position. I had a terrible night last night, so I see Mel taking me to sleepy-bye tonight.
MOOOOOOM you sure you have enough coasters now what all that new glassware and all? 
Oh and we had to have somebody with him at all times, but we made sure flytrap used his coaster.

And I just heard from my sister - she got pics of her son and her 8-y/o granddaughter!!! So my goofy baby sis is a grandmother. Her son is divorced and living in Canadia to be near his daughter. She doesn’t know exactly where he is, tho.

missred, I am so sorry. Peace and strength to you and your family. I had to watch my FiL go; I understand how difficult it is.
My husband and must have been really bored tonight. It all started because of a post by someone from SDMB asking us to post favorite songs from the 80s. I posted a couple, but didn’t want to take over. Why?
As soon as I started listening to a song, my husband wanted to hear a different song. So, we took turns listening to old music we used to enjoy and I started my own FB thread about it. This is what happens when we don’t go out and TV just didn’t seem interesting. I posted quite a youtube links to songs.
It has been raining all day and evening here. It’s very wet and actually fairly warm.
