Every week I hear ‘President ____, in his weekly address, stated that…’, and then of course, the reply of the opposition.
Yet I have NEVER actually HEARD the weekly address, or heard of any station that carries it - even the all-news or talk radio stations in our area. Does anyone play this (outside of DC), or is it just a tape that is made available to the press, and that they can play if they so desire?
My local NPR station plays exerpts now and then but never the whole thing unless something truely important is expected to be said.

1010 WINS (the big newsradio station in NYC) plays it every week in its entirety. I believe it runs Saturday mornings. I only ever caught two of Clinton’s speeches. None of Dubya’s yet.
