The Weird Dreamage MMP

Well, they certainly do send the messages saying “we’re sorry there are some problems with email” and “email access has now been restored.” Good to know, really. Specially since y’all seem to be on a schedule of having email-server problems every two/three weekends (when theoretically nobody who works in this building should be working, except for a few rentacops) and of rebooting the web servers every day around lunchtime…

No dreams last night, although I’ve been having some bizarre ones off and on for the last month or so. I’ll let you know if I have another one. :stuck_out_tongue:

Soapy, sorry about the theft.

I’m off to work as soon as the garbage trucks quit blocking my driveway.

I won everything Oprah owns on a bet with her over some kind of trivia thing.

Talk about being disappointed when you wake up, try waking up to NOT being a billionaire!

It worries me slightly that I know what you’re referring to even though I’ve never heard anyone use that particular term before.

As for dreams, other than that brief spell of having dreams in which I’m assassinated, I’m back to my regular mode of not having any recollection of dreams.

I’m still adjusting to living somewhere that has seasons. San Francisco has climate with minor annual variations, but here, it’s cold and gloomy, with a 90% chance of rain tomorrow.

Ivory - scary stuff, glad the robbers didn’t come in the house :frowning:

Can’t remember any good dreams from last night - I did have one a few weeks ago in which I was shouting at my estranged hubbie so much, I woke myself up in RL…

Still no sign of baby! Fine by me, I’d rather she came in her own time, there’s no rush

(due last Wednesday, FWIW)

I dreamed The Other Shoe was forcibly neti-potting me. That was … weird.

Years ago, I was burgled. While I slept, someone broke in, emptied my wallet of cash, and left. I woke up because Nature was calling, I looked toward my front door and knew something wasn’t right. The burglar only took the cash, my gloves (it was early March), and my sense of safety.

Worst dream I ever had helped me confirm I dreamed in color. My father was holding my hand over a red hot element on our electric stove. I still remember the red vividly.

I once dreamed I had lost all my teeth. When I woke and ran my tongue over them, I felt such a pure sense of joy that I’m not sure I’d ever really felt before!

I started playing Star Trek Online yesterday and then dreamed about the game last night. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not.

Hugs, Soapy!

Back from the surgery (and a nap!); it went very well because now I can see again out of my left eye! I can even read what’s on my computer screen without any glasses!! I go back to the eye doctor tomorrow morning and then back to work on Wednesday. The eye is still a bit sore - it feels like there’s something in it (and there -is- something foreign in it - a new lens!). Now I’m going to campaign to have the other eye done.

I would not want to have a dream about the surgery, though. LOL

yay for herbs’ new eye!

EEEK!!! IT’S BACK!!! (the annoying Kars for Kids radio commercial)

That’s awesome! Now to get the other one done…

Yay Herbs! Does thismean you have super vision?

Da cave smells soupilicious! In a while I shall make cornbread. Soup and cornbread on a rainy, chilly day. Comfort food numminess!

Everyone happy for Herbs’ eye say…

Aye!

Yay for herbs and {{soapy}}

I have vivid dreams that make sense at the time until I try to explain them then they sound odd. I also talk in my sleep and sleep walk.

Busy Monday and now I have to do expenses so I can get the money to pay the credit card bill.

{{{Soapy}}} - what a horrible feeling, and how sad to lose your husband’s ring. :frowning:

**hermette **- Yanno, they keep you waiting before they come, after they’re born, and long after they know better! Hope yours doesn’t wait too long or choose a very inconvenient time.

**tarra **- YAY!!

My dreams are often mega-bizarro and soon forgotten. Among the few that I remember - when I was a kid, I had a recurring dream that involved, among other things, my little Polish grandmother rasslin’ a bear. Then I had one that I’d given birth to a daughter, and when I woke up with no baby, I really felt the loss. More recently, I dreamed that my boss was hanging around my house looking in the windows, then he stole all my socks. No idea where that one came from.

Daughter is tutoring today, so she’ll be home late. I’ve got a hunk of ham thawing, and there will be broccoli, N.O.T. with onions, and maybe something else.

One day down, 4 to go. My super-long weekend gave me a really bad attitude…

Last night, I dreamed I was in a team in the All-Soviet Soccer Tournament circa 1930. (I have no idea whether that actually happened.) Since I could (and can) neither speak Russian nor play soccer, I was apparently a coach. The main thing I remember from the dream is a lot of flyers going around in English and Russian about soccer in the Worker’s Paradise and how Marxist theory is advanced on the toes of the goal-scoring players and enticing us to go to places like the Kazakh SSR to play soccer there. Also, since it was around 1930, there were trains on the field between games passing out these flyers and accepting the teams that wanted to go somewhere else.

The night before that I dreamed I was running around in the dense temperate forest surrounding the Czech embassy, trying desperately to keep the stuff on my laptop screen from being seen by those following behind me.

I usually don’t give a damn about East European politics and I’m certainly not a Communist. Maybe I’m trying to tell myself I need a vacation somewhere people know how to make borscht.

I usually have very weird dreams. The last one I can remember involved me and Squirrel AGM and a guy I had a few classes with in grad school getting together and discussing the proper way to blackmail someone and get away with it. It involved leaving money in a tree and training a golden retriever to run towards the tree when you told it to come back.

I didn’t dream at all yesterday while I slept most of the day away. Culinary Boy now has my Sick. I’m finally getting over it, but I think my platelet count took a hit because I’m abnormally weak. I’ll keep an eye on how I feel and if it doesn’t get better in a week, I’ll get a blood test. I need one every six months anyway.

Speaking of Culinary Boy, he finally 'fessed up to me that he’s skipped about a week of school because he got scared at how far behind he fell when he was recovering from his attack. He called the department head today about getting an extension. I’m proud of my Boy. He’s much braver than I would have been under the circumstances.

{{{everyone}}}}

herbs, you don’t have to wear the eyepatch after cataract surgery anymore? My mom had to wear one after both of hers. That freaked me out more than the fact that she had her old lens in a jar on top of the fridge. That was actually kind of cool. No idea what happened to it. Probably got tossed when we moved.

I think I’m really losing tolerance for low level snark. Other threads on the dope (never in the MMP), in real life, comments on news article online. It just seems like everybody is so angry and testy these days.

I just got snarked at about what I thought was a perfectly legit discussion on another thread. I’m just not in the mood for it at all. :frowning:
