First, that poll was from last year–well before momentum was building. Second, it was in a state where the confederate flag is already flying. An equivalent poll would have to be from a region where the Swastika flag is currently flying. Nice try, though.
Interestingly enough, given some arguments posted here, I’ve read that some European white supremacists fly the Confederate flag AS A SUBSTITUTE for the Nazi flag, since flying that one is illegal.
Can anyone there confirm?
No, according to polling science, and statistics, that number represents the views of 1.3 million black people in the state.
That is true, within a margin of error with 95% confidence.
From way before Roof killed 9 black people for being black.
Now even some white Republicans in the state (who were *for *flying the flag on state grounds before that asshole killed 9 people and the whole nation looked at a Confederate flag on capitol grounds that couldn’t be lowered to half mast and couldn’t be touched without a 2/3 majority of the legislature) are against it.
But that was not the point, was it. The point was that the comparison between the confederate flag and the Nazi swastika is invalid. Because you cannot find me a poll where even 5% of Jews (much less 27%) would be pro-Nazi-swastika flag.
A nationwide poll this week found that 81% of black voters think the flags should come down.
Here is another new poll. A majority of South Carolina voters want the flags gone.
Silly Terr! Polls are for trolls.
Find me a poll where, in a state where the swastika flies, fewer than 5% of Jews are willing to say it’s okay.
I mean, I know you fucking love that poll; you’ve posted it over and over these past few days. But your use of it is stupid. It’s outdated, and the comparisons you’re trying to draw to it are also stupid.
It is stupid to say it is “outdated”. Unless your claim is that the confederate flag could not be compared to the swastika a year ago, but the comparison is valid now.
Hmm. From your link:
“Seventy-three percent of African-Americans want the flag taken down.”
Seems like that 27% stayed steady from the previous poll.
The comparison is valid now, you moron. Your attempt to invalidate it rests on our inability to find that imaginary state where the swastika still flies and ask people about it.
The biggest difference between the swastika and the confederate flag, here, is that no state is evil enough to fly a swastika flag, which means that Jews nowhere are currently dealing with a government flying a flag symbolizing their brutal repression. The comparison is otherwise valid.
You’re a stupid asshole. No point in responding to any other of your posts here.
Nope. Dig into the raw data. The question asked was “Do you support or oppose removing the Confederate battle flag from the grounds of the South Carolina state house?” 73% of African Americans said yes, but 10% said they were not sure. Now only 17% say they oppose it. That’s not steady at all.
Given your complete inability to understand how wrong you are, you’re certainly correct that further responses from you would be pointless. If only you’d apply the same logic to the rest of your posts here.
The flag of treason shouldn’t fly anywhere on public soil in America. The Kkk crowd can tattoo it on their foreheads, for all anyone cares.
17%. Let’s see - that’s 200,000+ black South Carolinians who want the Confederate flag flying. Correct?
Goddamn you’re a fucking idiot. In what context is 17 percent ever an endorsement?
Were we talking about endorsements?
Tiny shifts in poll questions can make great differences in answers. They didn’t say they want it flying, they said they opposed taking it down. They may say that because they think taking it down will sap any energy for real change that comes out of this tragedy. They may say that because they’re stupid. They may say that because they worry that removing the flag will lead to a spate of hate crimes by petulant white supremacists. They may say that for the same reason that the Jews in your imaginary flying-the-swastika state oppose taking the swastika down from their state capitol. But they didn’t say they want it flying.
In any case, you claimed percentages were holding steady. You were wrong. You’re shifting the goal posts, because you’re a dishonest weasel. Water is wet.
LHoD: You do know a couple of posters are trolling you, don’t you?
