The Why the Heck am I up Now???? MMP

Hello everyone! Sorry for the MIA things have been a little hectic here.

We took a trip to Texas last weekend and scattered my mom-in-laws ashes out at the ranch her best friend in the world owned and where mr ems spent most of his summers as a kidlet. Very very emotional.

Rebo Emma is a super name. All the coolest kids are called Emma :D:D:D

long day is over, it’s almost Firday, and I get to wear jeans to work tomorrow!

oh, and I lost 5 more lbs

Need help finding the missing pounds? I’m fairly skilled at finding lost weight. :smack:

As for jeans - try telecommuting. I get to wear nothing to work tomorrow!

Irked, came home, watched hockey.

Yay for Grandma Rebo! My “just friend” and I take her grandkids to hockey games.

Congrats on losing, rosie!!!

Once again, punctuation makes all the difference.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 84 for the day. Sounds loverly. Hopefully I will get to enjoy some of it as I’m plannin’ on a short irk day.

Rebo I forgot to add that my mom’s name is Emma. Like mmmmmm’s said, a great name!

Spaz appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the apartment. Also, my standard curse of a lifetime of painful paper cuts for your former tenants.

Rosie yay on the weight loss. Also yay for wearin’ jeans to irk. I get to wear jeans to irk today as well.

gotti alluded to wearin’ nothin’ to irk. Is it me or did it just get awful hot and steamy in here?

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. It’s all excitated caue it knows there’s some canteloupe in it’s future. Canteloupe, ain 't got no ladder! Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Well, thanks for *that *mental image.   I hope, at least, that you sit on a towel…

And good morning! Last night just after we went to bed, I started getting a weird feeling in the left side of my torso. Not exactly pain, but not right either. I was pretty sure it wasn’t a heart attack, but I’ve read where women have different symptoms from men, so I was a little worried. I thought it might help if I got up and went to the bathroom, and I was right. After I took a couple of steps, I let out a burp that most Bubbas woulda been proud of!! I may have scared the cats, too… but I felt more or less normal afterwards, so there ya go. Not my heart - just a little excess air in my belly. So yay.

**FCD **is taking the company truck to Johnstown and beyond since he’s going there to pick up a fixture and haul it to Rochester and back. So I dropped him off at the office this morning. I’ve got a load of towels in the washer and after the next load is done, I’ll change into grubbies and do some work in the back yard gardens. I need to make a trash-and-recycling run also - maybe I’ll do that this afternoon. And I think I may make a few calls to companies about fill dirt and grading for the front yard, since the father of FCD’s coworker can’t be bothered to get back with us.

Happy Firday!!!

The vet was out for Bob teh Wonder Pony yesterday. She x-rayed his stifles and hocks and said there are some arthritic changes but nothing that shouldn’t be there given his age. So we injected his hocks (hylauronic acid and cortisone) and that should cushion the joints and relieve the inflammation. And she said not to stop riding him so we can still do our walkies in the woods. I’m a happy girl today.

Congratulations! I was getting worried reading your posts.
I had a a couple year stint of horse ownership with my second wife but it seems we managed to compress a lot of trauma into a short time: bought & sold my first horse Isabelle (an Percheron), found our pony Daisy deceased one morning (strangled gut - the necropsy determined it was a natural problem of hers) and I had the great displeasure of putting down my second horse Bay (a Standardbred rescue racehorse) by my own hand about a year ago.

Yesterday I was sent to Pimlico with sports to do a Preakness preview. I was shocked how emotional I was getting around the horses…

RIP Blenny Hill…

We had a lawnmower blenny that died overnight and is currently being noshed by half a dozen small crabs. We suspect that he died because the crabs and snails did too good a job of cleaning up the algae in the tank and he starved. Poor Blenny Hill. :frowning: At least we didn’t buy the recommended number of crabs and snails for a 125-gallon system - they’d all be dying of starvation. As it is, the crew for 75-gallons is too many. If we have to replace them in the future, we’ll get fewer. Then we can get another blenny.

Poor fishie… :frowning:

‘mernin’. mrfl blrf

off to irk.

Bummer, FCM.

Good morning everyone. I’m sorry I’ve been missing. I kind of skimmed, and see I missed birthdays and anniversaries. So, belated birthday and anniversary wishes to you.

I’ve just been god awful busy and this weekend promises more of the same. Late this afternoon I have to go a restaurant in a town near mine to attend a farewell dinner for my boss. He’s asked me several times if I’m going, and I promised I would be there to have a final drink with him.

Tomorrow morning I am being kidnapped…er…picked up some my friends can take me shopping for my birthday present. After that, we’re going to one of those friend’s house to BBQ and celebrate my birthday. I am hoping that Sunday is more quiet, but somehow, I’m sure there will be plans for that day too.

Monday morning I report for jury duty. They sure do love me. I’m called up like clockwork.

That didn’t take too long… I raked and weeded the 2 gardens next to the house in the back. I moved several hostas - one to the front, two to the corner of the house, one from one side of the azalea to the other, and another from under a bunch of assorted plants to an open, sunny spot. I discovered a coneflower plant lost among some other hostas, so I moved that, as well as a columbine volunteer. I transplanted a dianthus and gave the chrysanthemum a haircut and yanked out some mint that was getting out of control. But that’s redundant, isn’t it?

I also planted the clematis my mom gave me - which I had given her several years ago - it kinda went crazy reproducing itself. Then I raked up all the debris and hauled it into the woods. Roughly 90 minutes of work - I’m pleased.

I’ve now got the sprinkler running to help settle in the transplanted stuff. And I’m about to start shopping for someone to bring some dirt and grade my front yard. The guy we talked to - father of FCD’s star draftsman - promised to get back to us with a price about 3 weeks ago. This was after it took him a week just to come to the house. Screw 'im - I don’t want to hire him - he’s been nothing but aggravating. Maybe he thinks we’re looking for a “deal” - we just want the job done at a reasonable price. But not if he’s going to be a dick about it. Sheesh. So off to the yellow pages I go!

Morning all!
Hope everyone is well, busy busy busy
Have a great day
JIM

Hi, everybody!

I’ve been remiss, but it’s been both a busy and a relaxing week.

I’m in Dallas through the end of May, still looking for work. Had an interview with an awesome temp company who, once the recruiter understood that I really meant “if it’s legal, moral, and ethical, I’ll do it”, has already tossed me a two-day assignment moving computers. Hey, it’s a start. If I can get regular work from them by the end of the month, I’ll stay longer.

I’m also finding that there are more teaching positions open than I’d ever thought possible. This is possibly because, in Texas, teaching has become Hell on Earth, but I’m trying to take a positive view, so I’m putting in for as many as possible.

In the meantime, I’ve been writing and . . . I even started drawing again. This is kind of big for me. I’ve sketched every now and then and been dissatisfied and hated myself for being a big wimp and not working at it. Well, apparently what I needed was to take my little sketchbook with me to a French bistro in the morning and just sit and draw until I was done. Funny how that works. Mostly what I’ve drawn are little illustrations of fanfics I’ve written.

In fact, I’m so amped about just putting words to the keyboard and pencil to paper, that I’m going to do a little self-promotion.

Here is the two part Criminal Minds fanfic I’ve written with three illustrations to go with it. Ignore or enjoy as you like.

Woke up this…afternoon…and stretched in bed. How was I supposed to know that there was a wasp in bed with me? OOOOOWWWWWWW Fucker got me on the top of my right hand…my dominant hand. It has been an hour and it still hurts like hell. I didn’t even know what did it until I saw a wasp on my living room window and then searched my bed and bedroom window and found one on my bedroom window. I was getting ready to go to Urgent Care because I had no clue what was wrong with my hand! Fucking wasps.

Graduation was hellishly boring. My mom gave me a graduation scrapbook (I am so not a scrapbook person) but she also got me a Tervis mug and that makes me very happy. I love Tervis.

I was going to mow the back lawn today but with my right hand hurting so badly, I doubt I will. I was gonna play Diablo too but again, my fucking hand hurts!!

congo, hubby and I have been playing Diablo III. Made it to the third act last night. Killing Belial wasn’t easy, but after about five tries, we did it. Great graphics. I’m sure we’ll be playing a little more this evening after I get back from the farewell dinner I’m supposed to attend.

I hope the swelling goes down soon. I haven’t been stung in a long time, but wasp stings are a bitch. There was a point in time I was stung so often it didn’t hurt all that much, but I’m sure it would be quite painful now.

I haven’t played much yet. I’ve only finished act 1 with my first toon but i want to try another class.
I was stung by a hornet when I was 2 or 3, never by a bee, and this is my first wasp. I was definitely not prepared for how much it hurts. I have an ice pack strapped to my hand right now and it’s working pretty well.

The toon I’m playing for running around with my husband is a wizard. For my solo toon, I created a monk, but I haven’t played much with her yet.
