An actual Monday morning MMP

It may be 5 o’clock somewhere (actually it is 5am here; but if you start drinking now, it’s not happy hour & you just might have a problem) but it’s after midnight local time, which means this week, for the first time in about 5 weeks that we really have a new Monday morning MMP & not a new Sunday evening MMP.

Now its your turn to drive this MMP where ever it may meander this week as, unlike airplanes, it’s quite acceptable to hijack here.

First! Woot!

It’s 11.11am here, I’m taking a break from the massive timetabling spreadsheet that I’m updating because it’s making my eyesight go a bit funny. The sun’s shining but it keeps raining too, it’s windy but we have the windows open as the office is hot. I have some exam stuff to take care of today but that means I need to see someone who’s not in yet.

Today is my Thursday, I have two days at work and then I’m on holiday in Hungary for a week - I suppose I should remind you lot about keeping the place tidy, doing what Moooom says, and using those coasters. Otherwise there may have to be the wrath of the pointy stick-wielding Sri Lankan attack spiders.

Lunchtime brings coffee with Bridezilla today, oh joy.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and feels coolish with a predicted high of 79 for the day. Then warmin’ on up! May even warm pool water up enough this week. Right now the water is still coolish.

Spidey that’s the idea of the MMP. Start off with whatever because it won’t matter after five or six posts!

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, 'tis Monday so irk purtification must commence.

Happy Monday Y’all!

Happy Moonday!

It’s a whopping 8 degrees above freezing outside.
My toes are cold.

I am up way to early being that the Sah-dog woke me at 3:30 to go out and I haven’t gotten back to sleep.

Got so much crap to do today, I don’t know where to start.
Maybe make a list.

Oh yes, it’s monday, isn’t it?

Blurf.

The games night was pretty quiet- I wound up playing a game of trivial pursuit (a copy the same age as me, which does not make the questions easy!) with the bar staff.

I think I’m going to go to the fish shop today- I’m going to try move the axolotls into the same tank, as they’re not too different in size now, but I want to go buy a tank divider in case something goes wrong, and they start biting each other’s legs off. At least they’ll grow back if they do…

I’m hopefully going camping next week for a few days, so I want to get them sorted before then. I say hopefully, as I really can’t afford it, but I’m really finding it hard to act like a responsible grown up right now.

WHAT is going on with the weather??? The thermometer outside our garage says 40°, and the weather gadget on my computer says 37°!! We might see highs in the low 60s today. It’s the middle of May, dammit! I had to close the house up before 6 last night to keep it from cooling too much inside, and I slept under full blanketage wearing a sleep shirt!

Why do I get the sickening feeling that this summer will be full of record-setting heat…

Today’s early plans include laundry and cleaning up pee spots on the carpet - Higgs suddenly un-housebroke herself. Stoopit dog. I cleaned 4 spots yesterday and there are 3 more to do today. At least **FCD **now believes me about leaving her out of her crate while we’re gone. He’s also accepted that we’ve been over-feeding her. She’s not happy about smaller rations. Too bad, so sad. :stuck_out_tongue:

When it warms a bit, I’ve got yard work to do. I’m glad I did the mowing yesterday - all I’ll need to do today is spray the poison ivy, and plant stuff on the front hill. It shouldn’t be too back-breaking, should it?? Other stuff might be accomplished. Maybe. If I feel like it.

Oh well - Happy Moanday!

It was 12:21 PM here when you posted your Monday AFTERNOON Post.

Just sayin’.

'tis a brisk 33 here this morning. I just had a yummy omelet with leftover hollandaise sauce from yesterday’s Mother’s Day dinner.

FCM, one of our cats is on a weight-loss regimen. Both cats have therefore had to give up the all-day dry food buffet. They are not happy, either.

I have no meetings at work today, so I hope to make significant progress on the web project.

Happy Monday, all!

**Nooner **- you choose to live in the wrong time zone - that’s *your *problem! :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Moanday morning, all.

Moanday is my Saturday, so up for the moment but likely to nap a little later this AM. Quite nippy up here in the great white north also. Low 40’s F. Had to set up a little fire in the wood stove to drive off the chill demons. We’re hoping tonight that temps don’t drop below the low thirties (projected), because we do have some stuff in our gardens already, and a few more plants from last year have reseeded and sent up shoots already. We’re close to the ‘big’ lake here (Champlain) so it acts as a bit of a heat sink and moderates temps within a close range, but it’s still early in the season for growing, and we always push the envelope a bit due to having such a short growing season.

fingers crossed
And I agree, Mmmoooooomm, that this erratic weather bodes ill for the summer, and that we may likely roast. Seems like anymore we’re getting, at the very least, crazy swings in both temps and wetness/dryness. Don’t see it changing anytime too soon. We here will very likely go from needing a fire to needing the A/C within a span of a couple weeks. As the kiddos say these days, WTF??
Anyhoo… hope y’all have a great Moanday (is too a word!) and I have to ask - just exactly how many M’s and O’s are properly in Mmmooooomm?

Inquiring minds need to know…

More *o *less m, and the more whiny, the more *ooo *you need.

I’ve got a load of jeans in the washers. I’m dressed in grubbies for when it warms enough to venture into the garden. I’m thinking I might run down to the convenience store for a donut, just because.

I just can’t get in gear this morning. Maybe because I woke around 1 thanks to the mega-itchy bug bites on my legs??
*mmmmmmmmmmmmm *- donuts…

Hello, Monday!

I for one am contemplating a nap. But first I am waiting for my friend to wake up so that I can make sure that everyone is situated with the dogs on one side of the gate and her on the other side.

There’s a chance that I might help another friend move some boxes but otherwise I probably won’t be doing much today. I was in a hurry to get out of the house yesterday and wearing Mary Janes with a bit of a heel on them and I ended up falling and hitting my bad knee. It’s a bit crunchy today and feeling like it might want to give out so I don’t think that exercising and/or tap dancing will be in the cards.

From the last MMP, I just wanted to say that from my point of view, Midget, the less that you know about the details of your parent’s divorce the better. At least that’s how it works out for me. My parents have been separated for a long time and it’s still stressful. The thing to remember is that these issues are theirs, not yours, and you need to take care of you and let them take care of themselves. Even though it’s hard to do that, it’s so much better for you mental health-wise if you can establish this boundary.

Morning all,

Moanday blurfage. Mr. Jynxster may or may not have a job at the end of this month. Stooooooopid guberm’t contracts. His contracting company lost the re-bid, don’t know if new company will hire him. They should, the Air Force wants them to, but there is no guarantees…

Also, why can’t anyone make a decent dishwasher? Went shoppiing for one (Jynxster Mom is buying) and don’t like anything, too cheaply made and not sure what is worth spending more money on as they all seem to be about the same. Also no one seems to have much selection to look at either. Any one have any good/bad dishwasher brand stories?

So, I texted my mom for Happy Mother’s Day yesterday, instead of calling as I knew she’d be at work, only to find out that she wasn’t at work. She was at the hospital with my dad. Turns out Saturday, Dad started having pain in his left shoulder. Both my mom and my older brother were at work, so Mom told him to call 911, and the EMTs scooped him up and took him to the hospital where he was admitted for testing.

As of Sunday morning, they were still waiting for the test results.

I really don’t know who I’m more frustrated with - the hospital for not having enough staff on Mother’s Day to interpret stress test results and tell us whether my father had a heart attack or my mom for not bothering to call me to tell me that my father had possibly had a heart attack.

I can’t count how many times my mother told me about my dad being in the hospital *weeks *after the event. I’m sure it was largely “out of sight, out of mind” since I’m the only one of the sibs who lived outside of the immediate Baltimore area. Whatcha gonna do? Not to be flippant, but I know in my case, there was no sense in saying anything to Mom about it and I let it go.

**Jynx **- we’ve got a GE dishwasher that’s not quite 9 years old. It was within the first couple of years that rust showed up on the top rack, and by now, about 4" is rusted out. They stopped making our model, so we can’t get a replacement rack. It does an OK job, but it can be noisy, and when we replace it, I’m not buying GE again. (Bad luck with the GE fridge also, but that’s another story.) Beyond that, I don’t know - I haven’t bothered to research brands. I suppose I could just go back to hand-washing??

First load on the lines, second in the washer, still too chilly to dig in dirt, but the sun is up, so maybe in a couple of hours, I can start digging.

My SIL has been decently satisfied with her KitchenAid dishwasher. (Bought it about a year ago) It does seem that you need to be spending somewhere in the area of $700-900 for a dishwasher. Less, and you have a lot of compromises. More, and you’re just buying incremental differences like 46 vs 47 dB noise level, or adding a cycle or two.

Having to pay more for extra cycles irritates me as it’s essentially just paying for an unlock code for the firmware. The dishwasher already has the spray arms, pump and heater. Why should it cost more to use them in different patterns?

Our weather is broken as well. Air conditioning was running full tilt on Friday, and today, we’ve got the furnace on.

Third (and last) load in the washer. I think I’ve got enough space on the lines to hang it all out. And by then, it might be warm enough for me to start digging holes and planting stuff. Meanwhile, I veg.

I have no dishwasher advice to give - I have a pair of hands, a bowl, detergent and hot water. That’s all the dishwasher I need and nobody has ever been able to persuade me otherwise.

Yeah, this is the same mom who is chronically sleep-deprived, two years past retirement age and unable to retire due to financial concerns, and dealing with my dad who has Alzheimer’s and is a great big whiny baby hypochondriac (and I say this being a whiny baby hypochondriac myself). And we both know there’s pretty much nothing I can do from where I am, and it’s not like she’s getting breaks where she can update the one person who can update everyone else (that was my job when I lived there).

So, really, not much I can do no matter how it goes. Nope, not going to bug my mom about it. I’ll just vent here.
