I concur with the Miscellaneous group simply because the people who don’t fit categories directly are harder to decide on as for their overall contribution. I would urge an ample number of votes for that group, however. Some of them are pretty good characters as characters go.
Beadie is a perfect example of a potential Misc person.
So you think Beadie should go into Misc, not The Law? She’s so hard to place. I think she fits best w/ The Law just because she did directly help w/ the investigation in season two.

I’m pleased with the voting “turnout” so far. No big surprises in the polls attracting fewer voters, either.

Wow, impressive work. Not a lot of surprises (except for maybe the strong love for Bodie AND Prop Joe). For the most part, the characters with the most episodes lead the voting.
I think the cutoff points for each poll will really depend on how the final tallies look. We can play it by ear and just use our best judgment to decide if someone deserves to move on or not (Deserve’s got nutthin’ to do with it, as Snoop would say).
No argument here. I’m planning to keep doing the all-in-one sorting/stripping and posting here as opposed to yet another The Wire thread with that sort of thing in it. Since you and I have been the ones using this thread, we’re most likely to keep exchanging views and ideas here. If others want to join in, I’m all for it.
I’ve enjoyed your links to all polls posts. Another good idea. That way we should be able to keep “turnout” approximately balanced as much as we can. Some polls are just going to be more popular (obviously!) than others.
I’ve had another idea I’d like your opinion of. Somebody made reference to you and me and perhaps even AuntiePam as being “latecomers” and something like “where were you when the show was on as first run?” or words to that effect. So my idea would be to go back to those more active threads (the ones with the most posts) and collect the data on who was participating then. Gather maybe 10 threads’ worth of names and compile a list of the more active Dopers in those threads. Then compare those names with the ones posting comments in the poll threads, just to see where the “old folks” are as compared with us “newcomers.”
What do you think of that?
