There is a bottle of port wine riding on this. I need to know about an event in witch there’s a huge tomato fight that takes place in the streets of a European city. my mom says that it takes place in a Italian city. I say that it takes place in a Spanish city. if any doper can fill me in on some info and/or a link, it would be greatly appreciated.
You win. It’s in Bunol, Spain.
Yup, the tomato fight is in Buñol (Spain) but in Italy I believe they have something similar with oranges which would explain the confusion.
Sailor, can you give me more info on the orange food fight in Italy. I have been confusing this fight with the famous tomatoe fight in Spain. (I’m ace’s mom and I lost the bet and now have to buy him a bottle of Port wine and he likes the expensive kind! I kinda hated to loose that one.)
Luciann, don’t give in so easily. As you can see in this board all you have to do is make your own definitions so that you are right.
The question was the “biggest” food fight? How do we define “biggest”? Ampount of food? number of people? you get the idea… you can drag this on forever…
Anyway, I did a Net search using “food fight” and got a gazillion press articles about agricultural trade because reporters think they are so ingenious and so clever to use “food fight” in such a context <sigh>
But I have good news for you. This site tells about the italian event. Since the italian event lasts three days and the Spanish one a couple of hours I would say you win.
Look, just send me the bottle of wine and let’s stop arguing, OK?
Don’t you hate it when people come in, ask a question and never appear again, not even to thank those that took the trouble to research what they could have done on their own?
Anyway, here’s a link to this year’s Tomatina.
Yes!
on behalf of my mother (who’s not very computer friendly), thankyou very much. and i thank you. when she finally does give me the bottle of port, i’ll raise a toast to you
well, nothing personal against your mother but why does she post a question if she does not intend to read the answer.
BTW, my answer was that probably she wins the bet, not you, so I can understand if you hide it from her
