The Younger Gens Bush: Thank God for Family Values

I dunno. I’d have to see her in person-- that photo looks a tad, shall we say, touched up? But she’d actually starting to look a but like Hil…

I was always a fan of the picture with her nipples sticking through her t-shirt.

I’m just saying, is all.

Stop looking at me!!!

-Joe, no nipples

Ooooh, how chilling. What, are you gonna report him to the authorities? Or are you going to prosecute hime yourself? If neither, then shut the fuck up, and stop acting like such a defensive weenie.

Look, when he’s got nothing else, what is he supposed to do?

-Joe, would do her still

Yer right. I shouldn’t be a defensive weenie; much better to be an offensive one.

I think the OP is dumb and that we need a word beyond “frivolous” to describe 99% of what has been posted in this thread (from all political perspectives–although I guess everyone is having fun), but in the interest of the Straight Dope®:
had Illinois gone Republican, Kennedy would have still won the Electoral College.

Wow, great comeback. I’m surprised the tinfoil hat meme didn’t come out of your ass too. I guess I shouldn’t expect someone of your stellar background to even know what this chemical does to you. You know if you’ve seen it and moreso if you’ve done it yourself. To someone who’s been there, the signs become all too obvious.

Here’s the definitions for you:

Libel: A false publication, as in writing, print, signs, or pictures, that damages a person’s reputation.
Slander: Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person’s reputation.

I don’t believe George ever denied he had partaken in the use of cocaine in the past, he has never admitted he has quit either. So my statement is not false, it does not fall into either category. Until I know he can take a drug test, an HONEST one without the help of his power and money, then my statement stands.

He fits the physical and mental characteristics of someone suffering an addiction. His jaw never stops, he is constantly paranoid someone is going to attack him (or his daddy as the case may be), and he’s a very confrontational egomaniac. I also have no doubt he still hits the bottle as well.

But in the spirit of UncleBeer, these are my observations based on first-hand experience. So don’t SUE me! Last I checked, I was still allowed an opinion. Since this is the person running this country, I reserve the right to look out for the well-being of my fellow citizens and I think his addiction problems are like his desired economic plan: “trickling down”.

Right. Which is what makes the pretty-boy part of my comment valid. That, too, was a considered tactic when proposing the televised debates. The Dems knew that JFK would had far more superficial appeal that did RMH.

You’re also right, tom, about the OP being dumb, and the majority of the content (from either side of the aisle) frivolous. But it wasn’t all that fun.

In any case, my objections, such as they are, are really pretty pointless and it would be entirely fruitless to pursue them further. My apologies to all, and especially Pink Marabou, for steering this thread down that bumpy path to nowhere. It was an entirely pointless exercise which I should have recognized immediately and refrained from posting.

Last time I saw a mouth like that, it had a hook in it.

Teenagers abuse alcohol and make poor decisions! News at 11.

You’re confusing physical dependancy with addiction. They’re two different things. Once the physical dependancy of nicotine is broken, the “addiction,” such as it is, is basically over. Alcholism/addiction is a disease with a genetic component. The addiction does not end after physical withdrawal. It is extremely rare for alcoholics and drug addicts to be able to stay dry on their own (or without shifting their addiction to something else like gambling or sex) without any sort of help or program. Comparing it to quitting smoking is specious.

Most definitely on the news at 11: some blowhard or other prattling about family values while ignoring the plank in his own eye.

Thank you, DtC --I so didn’t want to exerbate my carpal tunnel with answering!

big eye roll for smoking equating to substance addiction over here.

Of course, I wouldn’t have carpal tunnel, if I could freaking type!

exacerbate. exacerbate. ex–you get the idea.

Thanks for that valid and valued criticism. I think Tomndebb (why is the “sacred feminine” not capitalized, incidentally?) is a name reflective of a 1920s carnival sideshow he-she act and that with help and some courses you’ll eventually have the writing abilities of Jean Teasdale.

I love it when Dopers can share.

In the interest of making tomndebb feel better by posting a fact in this thread, the Bushes are not Sr. and Jr. Their names are not identical. It’s a button with me; my middle name differs from my fathers, and it took years to get people (relatives, even!) to stop calling me Junior. I prefer Bush the Elder, and Bush the Younger myself.

For the same reason the profane masculine is not capitalized (look to the left)–it’s easier to type.

Facts be damned, when we use Jr it is not for accuracy but as an insulting shortcut. Same as Dubya or even W. I think we all no he is not Jr., When have facts ever interfered with Jr. We are invaded Iraq because of WMDs. Anyone remember that one?

I am sorry for your own grief, but this is not a misunderstanding, it is a strong dislike, distrust, hatred or at least mild wonder that our President seems to have substandard qualifications.

BTW: Was the WMD justification not a fact?

Would you like to retype this post so that it makes some fucking sense? For crying out loud, if I’m this tired of some of the people who are on the same side as I am, I can only imagine what the conservatives must feel like.
