The father of a high school band member arranged for a nice donation from his employer to the school in the form of fishing kits that could be sold door-to-door to raise money for a planned band trip. The kits apparently contain the necessary stuff to catch, clean, and cook fish. Sounds innocent enough, right? The school principal refused to take delivery of the 2200 kits because they contained a 6 inch filet knife. The school board president referred to the collection of fishing kits as an “arsenal.”
I’ll refer to the bunch of them as an arsenal of arse. For people supposedly entrusted with educating children, they seriously need to get a clue.
Being Germantown, not a big surprise. The lefties have a pretty good hold in that area.
Hell, in ND there are some schools that still allow kids to bring their shotguns during hunting season so they can leave school and hit the fields right away. Guess we have more common sense than most, even kids. When’s the last time you heard of a massive school shooting in ND? Or anywhere in this concealed-carry state?
13 teachers, two students, one policeman killed, ten people injured, the shooter committed suicide.
At Beslan, Russia, in September of this year, 344 civillians were killed, including 172 children, though that was perpetrated by terrorists rather than students.
duffer, do you have any evidence that the President of the School Board leans to the left politically other than the fact that she or he lives in an area which is known to be generally liberal?
What are the state laws there regarding knives in school? If there were a law against it, it seems to me that the smart thing to do would be to remove the knives, have the students sell the kits, get the names and addresses of all those who bought kits, and make the knives available to them without involving the students.
Actually, I agree with him. This thing of so many people getting in even the teensiest tiniest leftie/rightie/republican/democrat thing digs in the most innocuous thread subjects is really getting annoying. The election is over, let’s move on.
Please, PLEASE??? Pretty please with sugar on top?
Sigh
sigh You understand how local School Boards work, right? They are directly accountable to the city they serve. If the community is liberal, the Board’s policies will be liberal.
Thanks for helping me make my point, even if you didn’t realize it.
Almost (maybe). Another Colorado school, five kids, two guns, and a “hit list”.
Ironically, the police officer who did the locker search that uncovered the first gun discovered that 1) it was her son’s locker, and 2) it was her gun. That *can’t * be good for her career prospects.
