You are an unusually aggressive person. Every time I’ve noticed you, you’ve been on the attack, if not in your first post, then shortly after.
And, save for the Harlan Ellison thread, it’s been over some remarkably petty shit.
Now, granted, this is a bit of a ‘people in glass houses’ situation, as I can get disproportionately worked up over some silly things, too.
But that, I think, gives me some insight to give you some advice. I know myself, and I recognize this tendency, so I’ve learned to walk away when I get like that - I don’t need to post my opinion on everything, and when I do post, I don’t need to let out every intemperate passenger that’s riding that train of thought at every stop.
So…My advice? Slow your roll. Calm down, or at least take the time to compose the post in a calm manner. Don’t post at all if that clarity never comes.
It’s not always easy to do, but it’s the best way to avoid saying something one will regret - whether that’s due to having empathy for the person they would have blasted, or because it’s just generally a bad look. (For the record? This thread - bad look.)

I guess you missed the “deeply personal connection” part of Manda JO’s post. Thelma Lou didn’t over-react at all and it’s a pretty jerky move to to call her a drama llama in this context.
Yeah, I read ThelmaLou’s reply as addressing an apparent general attitude towards the war, not towards the documentary.

I’m with you on this one. Sometimes I think I entered bizarro-world. As jerkish or not as the OP may be, in this specific thing I agree - disliking the documentary isn’t saying anything about the actual war. And someone comparing another’s criticism of a TV show to their own real life loss is a bit of a stretch.

It pains me to agree even the slightest with the OP, but you are correct. Thelma seems to have taken offense where none was given or intended.
