This is what is pissing me off, constantly being called an ‘armchair quarterback’ by a 50 something year old geezer who’s picture on(MPSIMS shows him in a swimming pool he probably owns) telling me, who is 21, supports his brother to school, works a 45 hour week, because of my opinions, to give it ALL up, go to Iraq, fight on the frontlines in order to support my ‘neo con’ buddies. All this in relation to me giving my fucking opinion about how to get OUT of Iraq without it being a complete disaster.

As for Der Trihs, he is basically a cunt who thinks that it’s right to kill ‘evil’ American soldiers.
If you can’t debate about something without getting too irrational or emotional about a certain subject, which tends to lead to the subject being changed, such as constantly questioning my right to fucking have an opinion on the subject, then don’t debate at all. Simple as.
This seems to be a long running complaint about the two. The rant was adequate, but not as original as some. Regardless of the final score for the rant, ther’ll likely be 6 more before we ever get to a final score anyway.
Every now and then one of them sill accidentally shit a nugget worth looking at, just not in anything that even remotely has to do with politics.
The Neo-Communism roles they play is cute sometimes. Hey, it’s their stance and world-view. Whatever works for them. I just love the paternalistic nature of knowing what’s best that makes them beleive their opinions are right and therefore think that negates anyone else’s opinion.
I can’t think of a single thing I agree with either on, but for any challenge to the opinions they have, I’d never expect them to completely abandon the cause. Take comfort in the weight of your opinion they grant it. You must be doing something right.
As for the scoring, I was going to give 5 bonus points for excessive use of “cunt”. Then deducted 4 when I realized it wasn’t nearly excessive enough.

It seems to be an Australian/European thing. Americans don’t call other men cunts, at least not in my experience.
I often disagree with Red Fury. I find him to be reflexively anti-American and extremely partisan. But, I certainly wouldn’t put him in the same category with Der Trihs, who is absolute scum. And even though I do disagree with Red, I still find him to make thoughtful contributions to this board, and I can honestly say that I’ve learned a thing or two from him. If I meant him IRL, I’d buy him a beer and have a chat. If I meant Der Trihs, I’d probably spit in his face. Well, I’d probably want to, but I doubt I’d actually do it-- I’m not a spit-in-the-face kinda guy.
While I did vehemently disagree with RedFury in several recent threads, I have to say, he’s conducted himself with far more decorum than you, Ryan_Liam.

FTR, I don’t know what I’m catching flak about WRT the link to the pic. I didn’t post it, I didn’t link to it, and I wasn’t defending it. I was pointing out it was posted here by him, rather than some outside link to a post.

In this case it makes sense. Reading Red Fury’s posts you might just an image of a twenty-something idealistic college/grad student. Instead he’s an older guy who should have learned years ago that the world isn’t as simple as he’d like it to be.
