That’s one!
No, I don’t. He’s an America-hating fuckstick, who doesn’t merit being referred to in any other fashion.
I will concede, though that the fellows down at the bridge club are getting a bit tired of my insistence on using accurate terminology (I heard a rumor last week that there’s a petition going around to require me to only make suited bids).
So, the OP read a couple of minor complaints about his thread, flipped out so much he(?) attacked 2 posters, accused one of lying, got warned, got his own thread closed, then started a Pit thread to continue his, er, “flippancy”, a thread which the OP cowardly ditches as soon as he sees it isn’t going his way… and I am supposed to think ThelmaLou is the snowflake? All because she dared mentioned her dead Vietnam veteran spouse in response to Lamoral’s original complaint (which the OP ignored, but whatever)?
Got it.
And I just realized, TextyAss (whatever, not going back to check proper spelling of his name) waited four days to start this thread.
Four days.
So not only did he make an emotional OP, take Thelma’s comment personally, get angry enough to lash out at her… but then somehow stayed mad for four days. Saturday to Wednesday. A weekend and half of a work week. Day Off all the way to Hump Day.
And not just mad, but seething enough that he couldn’t let it drop. He had to rehash his ravaged emotions for all of us to see (and mock…).
Free advice: Anger management counseling, Texty.
You lucky bastard. I’m on page two. fuck!
Really. I’ve been here many years and never felt the need to pit another poster. I just don’t read their posts anymore if I find them that annoying.
Perhaps so, but MHO is that the moniker she uses to refer to him isn’t nearly pejorative enough.
ThelmaLou, how about “Rump” as an alternative? Just try it out, and see if you like it. All I am saying, is give “Rump” a chance. ![]()
Oh, and the OP is way out of line.
Oh was he talking about her?
Boy, is my face red! :o
Ha. Yes. Now your response makes (some) sense. ThelmaLou has insisted for some time on calling Trump by the nickname “Thump”.
I’m flattered that you read my posts, but you don’t read *quite *carefully enough, because I never capitalize “thump” except if it’s the first word in the sentence (1950s grammar training dies hard).
I feel like I’ve really arrived at the Dope now that I have my own Pit thread. I’m deeply appreciative to the Poopyhead who started it.
Wait until it gets to page 20 and then start a pit thread about how neither of you learned anything from it.
I’ll be over in the “Thelma called me a Poopyhead and she even capitalized it!” thread…
The OP of the threads seems unhinged, and his reaction was over the top and inappropriate.
ThelmaLou’s comment was an odd overreaction.
Widows or other people with personal connections to an issue can overreact to things (ask me how I know!). There’s nothing wrong with pointing that out.
Absolutely. Which is why most who’ve castigated the OP have also acknowledged the overreaction on the widow’s part. This mere acknowledgement is apparently unsatisfying to some others.
I have trouble seeing how her response was an overreaction.
It was a very mild overreaction. As if I’d called someone’s description of a traffic accident “vapid” and the mother of one of the victims took offense. Easily understood, and easily fixable.
It wasn’t an overreaction. She missed the point.
She was angry (rightfully) but mistaken by thinking that the post trivialized the war and those who were affected by it. The OP’s intent was to show derision for the film technique of a documentary, not the war itself. The OP then went full on asshole about the whole situation.
So I score TL with a “whoops” and the OP with an “OH FUCK I MUST AVENGE ALL CRITICISM OF ME”
Still a shrine to her would be nice. I’ll search for some shiny stones and incense.
I’ll toss in my VHS copy of Thelma and Louise!
Except that is obviously not true. Most people who’ve poked the OP don’t even mention ThelmaLou. And a fair chunk of those who did include:
So I’d be curious how you got to your “most people acknowledged” conclusion. Seems to feed into my “morphing reality” thing I mentioned as being interesting.
Hell, not only have I been pitted brutally, I was actually cast into the Outer Darkness of Eternal Doom. And my first thought was, of course, “Banned name!”.
And there I was, a perfectly wretched pun to post, and I couldn’t! It was like a funeral, all dressed up with no place to go!
