Theory of the Belief that God Resides in the Heavens

A number of years ago (and I’m 99.9% sure I didn’t dream this), I read a sentence in some article about how humans have a real, measurable, neurological reaction of some kind that occurs when we crane our necks to look up at a bright sky, which brings over us a feeling of well-being, happiness, optimism, etc. This reaction led to the belief that God must therefore exist in the heavens. Please let me know if you have heard this theory also, and where.

I can’t disprove the pleasure theory, but some believe it is a way to help us think more clearly:

Previk’s view, as reported in The Psychologist, is that eye movement and working memory are both under the control of lateral prefrontal areas, suggesting an evolutionary account of the phenomenon:‘the origins of many cognitive operations in humans may be linked to more primitive systems involved in the exploration of distant 3-D space’. Duckett’s view is that looking skyward is simply a way of ‘strengthening concentration by excluding redundant visual stimuli’.

So in other words, the sky is boring, and so is less distracting to look at. The origin of divine inspiration, perhaps?
