There are people skiing down the street.

That at least explains the funny tracks I saw in the snow. For those of you not from Nova Scotia or PEI, we got hit by a blizzard. A big one. Which lasted for more than 24 hours. We got close to a metre of snow here, many roads aren’t plowed, and there are cars in the parking lot of which nothing can be seen below the windows.

Not that I’m complaining. Not only did I get two days off school (bringing the total days missed due to weather up to 7 so far this year, which must be a record), but my mid-term was supossed to be today. Next week is Spring Break. I don’t have to write it until March.

We celebrated with a bottle of wine.

On the other hand, I’m bored stiff, and many students will be leaving (or at least trying to) over the next few days. I can’t really go anywhere, buses aren’t running, nothing is open anyways. Can’t even call my parents, they’re down south right now (which makes this two years in a row that they were south while I was stuck in the middle of a snowstorm).

At least we still have power. And this time I have a radio. And phone. And internet. So things aren’t completely horrible. And the food services people stayed here overnight last ngiht to be here to feed us. The Philosophy and Baking society are thinking of making them cookies to thank them.

Except we don’t really have the ingredients to bake anything.
