Any thoughts?
Best episode of the entire series, in my opinion. I could not have asked for anything more.
“Stage Freeze!”
“You don’t say stage freeze, you just do it.”

“Dude, do you have a boner?”
And I was very impressed with Dee’s (Kaitlin Olson’s) singing ability. Especially considering the notes were going up and down and all over the place.
Dayman!
Ahhhhahhhahhh
Fighter of the nightman!
Ahhhahhahhh
Champion of the sun!
You’re a master of karate, and friendship for everyone!
Dayman!
Man, Charlie had one fucked up childhood.
I thought for sure this ep would be the cast just trying to capitalize on the popularity of the Dayman song, and I was so incredibly wrong. I knew right away that the whole point of the musical was to impress the waitress, and it made the ep even funnier.
Some amazing lines and timing in this ep.
Frank “Who is playing the troll dude?”
Dee (minutes before going on stage): “I wrote a new song, I’m gonna throw it in.”
Charlie’s freakout monologue at Dee for not wanting to sing his song, and Frank’s “Troll Toll” song.
Also, I am convinced that the cast preformed the musical in front of a live audience that had no idea what they were in for. I have no cite, or evidence, only the knowledge that they have to know how perfect that would be, no matter the audience’s reaction.
Seriously, it was the perfect season finale. Loved it.
Dennis and that spandex and codpiece, comedy!
You need to pay the troll toll before you can get into the boy’s hole…
I’m going to slap your face off your face!
Definitely the best episode of the series, a big surprise given it’s been the worst season overall (though certainly not bad, just not up to standard). Seeing Mac come from the curtains with the cat eyes and makeup had me laughing harder than I have in a long time.
I thought the rape scene was well done…
Wow. Not the responses I was expecting. I thought it was one of the worst episodes of any season.
Granted, I despise episodes of TV shows that have singing and dancing, but still…
Maybe I should watch it again in a better mood or something.
Count me in as someone else that thought it was great. I actually really liked the first song between Dennis and Dee - they both have great voices.
I, too, hate musical episodes (and why the hell does every series I like, except maybe Seinfeld*, seem to have one??). So while there were some chuckley moments, and some LOL moments, I’m disappointed that this was the season finale.
[sub]*Maybe one could count the episode with the two barbers and Edward Scissorhands, or the episode where Crazy Joe DiVola is Pagliacci, as musical episodes, but I’d say they’re not.[/sub]
