They did it last night for a while too. I dont understand it. I’ve had hotmail since 1996 or something. I’m so used to it. It even has noises and pop-up windows for crap. I’m very traumatized.
That’s exactly how I feel, “traumatized”
I guess it’ll make more sense in the morning but right now I’m pretty fazed.
Anyone else think it looks a whole lot like the Netscape 6 interface - couldn’t be Uncle Bill ripping off another company ? Surely not !
Yeah I heard that too so I logged in via the website to check it out. It looks typically Microsoft. I check my Hotmail account through Outlook Express, so I hadn’t seen it in ages.
Haven’t seen Netscape recently so I can’t comment on that, but I like the new Hotmail look.
That was way weird, 'cos I only checked my e-mail about 45 minutes ago.
I wasn’t terribly fond of the old hotmail, so if it didn’t involve Bill I’d welcome the changes. But it does, so I’m leery.
whimpers It’s… it’s… different…
Kitty
Can I have my old Hotmail back?
Please? With sugar on top?
Oh well.
I don’t like it. I fear change. First they change my hotmail, what are they going to change next? My old reliable 1 dollar bill? WHAT! AAAAAAHHHHHH!!! runs and hides in a corner with faithful flashlight.
Besides this new format hurts my eyes.
All of the “how the site works for you” type settings are reset. I am NOT pleased.
And I liked it better the old way.
Change is bad…
They changed it? I checked my mail yesterday (Tuesday) and it looked the same to me. They better not have screwed it up too bad. Guess I’ll take a look at it later to see what they did to it.
its pretty cool, stuff is easier to find, and once u deciver it it pretty decent
I like the change. It’s a lot more useful, and features are easier to find and use.
If you don’t like it, fire up Outlook Express. My only complaint is that Microsoft hasn’t incorporated HTML mail server support into Outlook. I haven’t seen the Hotmail web site in almost two years.
Frankly, as one who uses hotmail as my primary e-mail source, it sucks. I do NOT need everything on the web to be “cartooned”. Netscape 6 is just a mass market version of the “I’m an idiot” skin that AOL uses on IE. Hotmail is now a clone of that. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. I’d change e-mails, but how? I been using hotmail for years, it’s the addy everyone I know has. This sucks.
Again, only if you are an idiot. I’m not. All the features worked fine before.
No, not only if you’re an idiot. It’s particularly useful for dialup, as you can now use almost every feature without having to load up 3 or 4 other pages first.
Actually, I already found something to email a complaint about: If you turn off the Rich Text feature, the HTML code jumps into your email text, and you can’t turn the feature back on to go back to the formatted version.
Some of us are in the 21st century, we don’t use dial up.
Wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be. I guess this is an attempt to make Hotmail more “user friendly”. I’m not against change in general, as long as it improves the service. My verdict is still out on the “new” Hotmail, but I’ll adjust to it regardless. One thing that absolutely has to go are those damn pop-up windows, I can’t stand those things.
I haven’t had any pop up windows yet.
Dave Swaney, it didn’t do that for me…maybe I’m just lucky.
