I find there’s too much spam that gets through with hotmail anyways… i have over 15 filters, i use the “bulk mail” thing, and i still get heaps of spam… I like yahoo much better myself.
just my 0.02$

Day two: Astroboy is still getting used to the new look/function of Hotmail.
Not happy yet!
This comes at a really BAD time… right now I’m really busy getting a huge project finished, so I have little time to deal with changes… damn you Bill Gates! Why couldn’t you wait until I had LOTS of free time???

I have the opposite problem. Since a couple of days ago when they changed Hotmail, NO mail gets to my inbox… it all goes directly to the junk mail folder. I have disabled ALL filters and it still all goes to the junk so I have to go there and fish the stuff out.
Doe anyone know the solution?
Hey! Some of us who use dial up are also in the 21st century but d/t their secluded locations can’t get DSL yet. It’s the price I have to pay for such a fabulous location. Sigh…
The British IT news site The Register has been tinkering with the new interface and mail filters. One conclusion they came to was that it automatically filters all mail with CAPITALISED SUBJECT LINES as junk mail.
Suits me. I haven’t had a single junk mail since changing my address a couple of months ago (I wasn’t very careful in distributing the previous one).
sailor, there’s a new Spam filter you might have to adjust the settings of.
I personally like the change. I like blue, and therefore the loads of blue looks very nice to me.
I was also getting 5-10 Spam mails a day (probably thanks to some prankster prick). Now, fortunately, I get NO spam. I haven’t had any e-mail problems at all.
As an MS employee I get to hear this kind of stuff all the time. The main thing that baffles me is that people always gripe about the free stuff (IE, Hotmail, Media Player, etc…). I talk to 5 - 10 people a day and help them get their mission critical servers up and going, and none of them complain as much a Ma and Pa Kettle sitting at home using free products that don’t do exactly what the want. If you don’t like…go to another free product.
Sorry about that. I have been needing to do that for a few years now. This is the only place I can say things like that though.
Quit crying like Nancy Kerrigan and go use something not made by MS. (F***ing end user idiot!)

The new Outlook XP does have support for WebMail. You may consider upgrading or if you want I can get a great deal on all our products, and I would be willing to get you a copy if you want one.

Don’t know what happened…sorry.
Greathouse, meet Milossarian. I hope you two have a good time.
I don’t mind much of the new layout, but one thing has me making a fist with my face: It no longer takes you directly to your inbox when you log in. You have to view all their craptacular portal content while you regroup and click on the inbox link. Grrrrrrr.
Sounds like may have already talked to him…
The only way I know I haven’t is that if he called for support on 9x or ME then he wasn’t talking to MS. We don’t do support for the 9x platform in house any longer. That all gets out-sourced.
Wow, maybe staying out of my own threads is the best way to ensure other people read them! Now I get it.
Well, now that I have used it for awhile, I like it. One thing I dont like, however, is it always adds my sig to every email. I dont really want to send “go fuck yourself with your atom bomb” to my parents.
Other than that, its cool
peace,
JB
