What knowledge or wisdom have you that you think every Doper would benefit from sharing in?
I don’t mean just things pertaining to the SDMB, though of course such things are welcome. I mean bits or even reams of knowledge you’ve been just WAITING for someone to post a GQ about, so you could show off your book learning or street smarts, on whatever subject. Do you have any special knowledge of scam artists and their schemes? Can you recognize common symptoms of a dangerous illness that, if any Doper is experiencing, should be cause to immediately get themselves to a doctor? Whatever it is, tell us.
Rowing in the sport of crew comes mostly from the legs, because you’re pushing off while sitting on moving seats. It certainly DOES NOT look anything like Popeye rowing his boat waving his arms in big circles.

The secret to happiness and long life is regular bowel movements and comfortable shoes.
Never get involved in a land war in Asia.
Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line.
Never bring a knife to a gun fight.
It is never over until its over.
When you get to the fork in the road take it.
The secret to easy to tie and easy to untie and yet stays tied shoelaces is to use a double loop instead of a single loop. Also called the Sailer’s knot.
We are all responsible for our own actions.
To thine own self be true.
Never draw to an inside straight.
Never lie down with a person who has more problems than you do.
Talk it out, then listen it in.
The one thing I think everyone could benefit from knowing:
We can only control our own actions and reactions. If another person’s actions are offensive, hurtful or otherwise troubling we cannot change that – we can only change how we react to them.
This is a lesson that I learned many years ago, and have been trying to instill within my children.
Oh yeh, and the difference between your/you’re, two/too/to, lose/loose, their/there/they’re, etc would be nice
