Things I (we?) should buy in the MMP

May I ask the subject? Also, get crackin’ on your studies!

… also, good luck!

Heh.

Oh, even better.

I think I see what you did there.

No details? No stories?! Hmph. { pout }

A lot of soap operas use something like this to advance the plot. What better cover story for nefarious deeds than, “Got drunk with my buddies”?

Recovering from surgery on a beach with a fruity drink (with one of those little paper umbrellas!) should be covered by insurance.

That’s friggin’ adorable.

Yay! Sorry about the pain levels though.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. Still trying to get hold of Sis to see what time she wants to be out and about.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and fed. Spike had requested biscuits and gravy for breakfast, but he forgot the most important part of requesting a particular breakfast: You need to be up for breakfast. Mrs Magill and I held a vote. She voted for bacon and eggs, and I abstained. Chloé approved, as she then got to lick eggy plates prep the plates for the dishwasher.

After showers, we shall venture forth and get my brother a birthday card and Kohl’s gift card. He has a non-carpenter job now, and needs more professional clothes. Mrs Magill needs to pick up some craft supplies to prep for Bank Kick-Off Camp. Band Season is year-round for her. She’s looking forward to “retirement.”

I have my first MTTA meeting tonight. I am excited, but nervous. I get anxious in unfamiliar social circumstances without my crutch, and this is something I have to do without her.

Mrs Magill just told me her plans to get.the boys out of the house tonight so I can present at the meeting.

I married the best person.

I’m not sure what MTTA stands for (Google informs me it’s a tech-y acronym for “Mean Time To Acknowledgement” which can’t possibly be relevant here) but @Maus_Magill I’m hopeful sure things will go smoothly & you’ll come away feeling better about Life Stuff ™.

More importantly, though, now that you’ve shared Mollie with us …have you shared Chloe? If so, I missed it!

ETA: or I forgot.

Eggs plate cleanup is an important part of a dog’s life. Hell, even a cat … Monkey gets to lick the prep bowl of raw eggy residue, and yanno, I haven’t scrambled me some eggs in a while.

Long Night tonight. Behold, my rejoicing. There’s been a series of minor interpersonal crew kerfluffles, the details of which are too mundane even for this forum. I’m kinda looking forward to the Saturday night drunk parade, at least they’re usually somewhat entertaining.

  • Petty coworkers = annoying, make work more unpleasant.
  • Petty customer = “Y’all gotta hear this shit!” and then we all get a giggle at someone’s nonsense.

I clutch my pearls. Nothing is too mundane!

Mollie, have you talked much with your wife about her feelings about what your transition means for her?

FCM, how is Otis today?

I feel a bit more achey (probably due to inflamation settling) and tired, but not too bad. Still a bit stupid/disinterested, but all right. Doing slow, non-heavy/non-bendy household tasks today. Today or tomorrow, I’ll lay out a schedule for the next week.

MTTA = Middle Tennessee Trans Alliance

We have talked, and we’re taking things one day at a time. Neither she nor I have any desire to bow out.

The usual running around. I had to help out on the 300 Slide as usual. Clean up took long er because there were a lot of damages, mostly Home Depot. The usual wrecked case o’ porcelain tile, plus they shipped a fence pole with no packaging. Next week shoulb be fun, the Metro manager, Senior Clerk, and one of the Smalls clerks are on vacation. I stopped at the ABC Sto after work, I was low on tequila after Cinco De Mayo. Imagine that. Time to nap.

{{{{nellie}}}}

Taxidermied jackalopes? Mechanical bull? The bartender’s a 1100 year old Saxon ghost?

@Maus_Magill that is weapons grade cuteness. Thank you so much for sharing.

If y’all came through my drive-thru line, you would both be coo’ed over!

Evenin’.

{{Nellie}}

I also want to hear more about this weird bar. My former university had a student bar with no beer, was it weirder’n that?

I’m feeling washed out today.

Did very little, except I did wind up going to the shops, as my student friend with the small kids sent a distress call- her husband’s away for the weekend (working, I think), so she was planning on taking the kids into town on the bus today to go grocery shopping, and maybe get a taxi back- however both kids had caught some bug and were throwing up throught the night and still hadn’t stopped and she was feeling pretty bad as well… No supermarket delivery slots until Monday, so please could I go pick up some supplies for them..?

It put the ‘feeling washed out’ into perspective a bit. At least feeding the ratties is my only daily responsibiliy to anything other than myself. I am very glad I don’t have to buy that much food every week as well…

Hello there. Was up at 6:30am, out of the house by 7:15 and didn’t get back until 2:30pm…lots of soccer to be caught up on. Cloudy and cool in the morning, did get into the 70’s in the afternoon along with a bit of sunshine.

Finally was able to pry the back off my watch to replace the battery, then almost lost the battery (it’s very tiny, can’t even read the print on it) but will try to pick one up tomorrow, I have a couple other wristwatches available. House is pretty much back in it’s usual (dis) order, only my bank account knows about the work that has been done on it. Have to give brother a call this evening, it’s his birthday and I sent some stuff I collected on my travels to him and his wife for Birthday/Mother’s Day.

And seeing what I missed in the past 20 hours or so.

JtC, still sitting here grinning about the pole and the poop. Thank you for that.

Mollie, picture looks delicious. And while murder may be a bit much, grevious bodily harm might do… Hope the meeting goes well. And Chloe is just plain adorable.

Dicey, know what you mean by motivation, was always a lazy studier until the last moment, then crammed liked crazy.

boo fae, sounds like a good day and glad pub-friend’s partner is doing well.

nellie, glad things went well, hope the implant does it’s job and the pain lessens quickly.

red, I presume (can’t remember) this wasn’t store-bought, or I’d be returning it post-haste.

FCM, glad Otis is doing well and Toby sounds like a joy to be around.

Taters, glad Mom seems on the road to recovery, but Doc is probably wise to hang onto her for a while yet.

Nut, been there on the washed-out front, think I’m back to normal post vacation, but still get a little tired at times. Speaking of which, my travel guy who organizes these trips is offering to put us back on the sailing ship next July for a 7-day round trip from Venice to Croatia and Montenegro…verrry tempting. And hope your friend and her kids get to feeling better soon.

And 4pm here so will fix some dinner in about an hour or two, until then I will work on my non-snacking skills (which are pretty much non-existent). Take care.

He’s completely back to normal. Eating as usual, hyperenergetic as usual, gnawing on my arms as usual. Who knows what the deal was…

Our boat has never been so clean!!! Well, at least not in the last year or so. Everything is sorted and either put away or brought home I wiped stuff down and vacuumed up crud and removed random hardware. We put the new weathercloths up - I don’t understand how I could use the old ones as patterns but the new ones don’t exactly fit. We got then installed, but they’re not nice and taut. Maybe they’ll shrink a bit??

FCD got the port and starboard lights working - huzzah! We also checked out the navigation instruments - apparently when tied up in our slip, we were doing 1.5 knots!! But a bit later, we got a notification that the satellites were being wonky. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow. We’ll be in familiar waters, so the GPS won’t be as critical.

Daughter and her family will come over around noon - after lunch anyway - and we’ll go out for a few hours. Tobias wants to drive the boat. We mostly plan to make sure everything is working. It’s going to be a sunny/partly sunny day with light winds, so it should be a nice day on the water.

Howdy, pardners!

Must forage for food now.

They’re SUCH CUTE KIDS!

FCM - I agree with Lily, they are cute kids.

I’m going to get ready in about twenty minutes, and I’m facing another situation I’ve never experienced: I don’t know what to wear!

You can’t go wrong with a thong and a tube top! Just ask swampy!!

Marketplace buy. I usually do a better inspection than I did this time.

Chloe’s adorbs, mollie.

The grands are cutie pies as well, Mooooom.

Sis and I gallivanted around to thrift stores, hit a plant store and, the highlight of the afternoon, the Penzey’s store. The store smelled heavenly! They were having a special that for every purchase over $5, you got one of the quarter cup jars of spice free. I bought some cinnamon, chipotle and Krakow Nights blend. Sis got some Stardust that I’m going to pick up next time. It would be fabulous on popcorn.

A salad and a quesadilla served for supper.

Howdy Y’all! I believe we set a new record for RDOS inactivities today. The recliners have gotten a thorough workout today. It’s been rainy off and on all day. I mean, we didn’t even have to go down to the mailbox, as mail lady brought the maill to us since there were some packages. We did clean the leftovers outta da fridge and I did wash the containers, so there’s that for productivity.

Dicey, young lady, have you studied yet? No? I didn’t think so. You march yourself right in there and get busy. The sooner you start the sooner you finish. Don’t give me that look! You want your face to freeze like that? Now, get in there and study.

Howzzat?

BooFae sounds like last night was a good time. Even more so for 'im indoors.

Nellie good to hear from ya! Glad the surgery went OK, but sorry the pain is worse than anticipated. Take the meds. Your sibs did good with the CARE package. Glad you’ve had your daughter with you and hooray your son is comin’ down to see you. I am sure Sir Charles makes a wonderful nurse.

MOOOOOOM I fretted sump’n fierce. Bet I didn’t get over eight hours sleep last night because of the worry. Glad you had fun with the Tobester and that Otis is back to bein’ Otis. RoxStar and the Tobester just keep gettin’ cuter!

Taters glad your mom is more lucid. Still a good idea to get the evaluation. Hope she gets moved to the SNF soonest. You deserve to spend Mother’s Day with your son.

Mollie hope all goes well with your MTTA meetin’, which you may very well be at as I post. Glad to know that Chloé keeps up with her chores. The pic of her is adoreable! She looks plum tuckered after doin’ her chore. I see that Mrs. Magill has made plans so you can present. She’s a definite keeper, but you already know that. A thong and glitter tube top are fine for formal occasions, but I gather this is more of a casual thing.

doggio Spot needs his top shelf tequila.

shoe hope the irk drama calms down. Petty customers should be laughed at.

Lily slow and steady is the smart move durin’ recovery after surgery.

Nuts you have earned major karma points for that good deed. Have a :star:. Heck, have another :star:.

MetalMouse I am sure the soccer folk are glad to have you back. Hope you don’t have to deal with more house stuff for a loooooong time.

Up from naptime. Having a Sazarac and watching hockey. Dinner tonight is Asian BBQ stirfry.

There’s a song about that

Howdy!

Something casual?

Hey everyone, it sounds like most everyone but Swampy was more productive than me today. I stitched and fed the birds, we drove an hour to check up on ginger kitty (she’s recovered from her mastitis but was very lonely so they gave her a kitten), give them money and a case of gooshy fud and then tried another Mexican place for lunch.

It was…decent. Of course, our expectations have lowered considerably since moving here.

The drive was beautiful, the trees and a million shades of green, the forest floor is blooming and everyone’s yards are in full flower.

We stopped at Aldi and I was super happy to find Bread Cheese again so bought 8 blocks. I started regretting my restraint as soon as we got back on the road.

I’ll try to remember to stop on my way home from the capital tomorrow, at the price of gas (4.29/gal) we aren’t going to be making any more single destination trips anymore.

Happy moms day in advance, I’ve gotten so bad at posting recently I figured I’d better say it now instead of next tuesday. I’m at the border on my piece now and borders are boring enough that I will stop now and again, so who knows

Mrs. L.A. cleaned and rearranged the catio. We moved the deep freezer to the other side of the French doors, the old rolling cutting table to where the freezer was, and the generator to the opposite corner. Looks a lot better and more spacious. In addition to sweeping out the debris, she swept the debris off the deck (outside the catio). We went down to Bellingham and picked up a heavy coffee table from one of her patients. She’s going to use it to mount a couple of solar panels on.

As for me, I cooked breakfast, loaded and ran the dishwasher then put the dishes away, helped with the freezer and the coffee table (and unlocked the Kryptonite loop lock on the generator that The Missus couldn’t), and made fajitas for dinner. I washed my load of whites, but didn’t dry them because SWMBO told me to wait until the morning. I have another load to wash too. 17:20, and I think all of our tasks are done.
