I don’t really enjoy those trivia contests, the ones where you sit at big long tables of 8 or 10 and they flash questions on a screen. And I’m going to one this evening. One of my friends invited me, and it’s a fundraiser for the organization that employs her, and since we don’t get to see each other much, I accepted.
Peanut butter flavored candy or cookies. Flavored chips of any sort. Breaded meat of any sort. Low humor (okay, when my 11 year old grandson does a fart joke, he’s cute, but it’s not funny).
Not a fan of Sedaris either, but I’m not sure if it’s the material or the delivery, as I’ve only heard him on This American Life, never read. I do know that I fucking hate his delivery. He’s one of the things that will cause me to skip an episode of TAL.
I just noticed your join date. Welcome to the SDMB, and this post should probably have gone in either IMHO or MPSIMS (other forums dedicated to personal opinion and the trivial, instead of ranting, which this doesn’t seem to be).
Roddy
He is coming up with a list of things that other people enjoy, but that he doesn’t. This is part of what makes people who they are. I didn’t notice any outrage from the OP. Granted this is the PIT, so outrage is assumed, but it is much more likely it just needs a forum change.
I hope you were just trolling/joking and you don’t legitimately jump at the chance to suggest seeing a doctor for mild rage?
Look at it this way. If you don’t like something it’s OK to say so in another forum that is related to the subject.
Is it entertainment or food? - try Cafe Society
Is it a video game? - try The Game Room
You don’t like republicans/democrats - Elections or great Debates
You hate the way ants seem to never seem to relax? - Mundane Pointless
If however you dislike something or someone enough to kick their ass up unto their throat and roast them in the heat of a thousand suns - well this is the place.
I hate watching sports, and I hate that others like it. Likewise for soda, fast food, and going to bars or casinos. I envy people that enjoy stuff that’s everywhere, and I hate the ubiquity that makes it difficult to avoid this stuff.
