This is me too, believe it or not!
Quote is in reference to Mister Rik’s post about reading while eating.
One of the things I miss the most about my husband is going out to dinner, ordering, then each getting out our books and enjoying reading and companionable silence in public. Didn’t matter if it was fast food or fine dining–we preferred reading to conversation when eating.
Office Space. I keep waiting for it to get funny. Ditto The Big Lebowski which I finally forced myself to sit through last weekend. What a complete waste of time. Seriously? This is the cultural reference of my generation? Is it, like, any movie that mentions pot becomes “cool” or something?!? (I mean seriously, a Marmot?!? Marmots are not scary!)
Starbucks coffee. It’s universally either over-roasted or under roasted. And who the heck decided that Pikes Peak was a good standard?!?
And raw onions of any kind on anything. What are you thinking?
Sports.
Obsessive gym rat types. (I do enjoy a bit of a workout and a swim, but that’s as far as it goes.)
Camping.
The Rose Parade.
Awards shows of any kind.
Smoking.
Movies and TV shows. I just can’t bring myself to care about a new movie coming out or a hot new TV show or about actors and actresses. Every so often I’ll watch an episode of a show and if it’s good I’ll watch from s01e01 to whatever the latest episode is over the course of a weekend, but that is very rare. I don’t have a dislike or hate for shows and movies, and it’s not one of those snobby “I prefer the books” attitudes either: for whatever reason, I just can’t bring myself to give the slightest shit about TV shows and movies.
