Ooh, there’s a few things I’ve been wondering which are Not My Business- the first is something that really unlikely, but…
About 5 years ago, I met a really nice bloke in New Zealand, stayed in the hostel he ran for about 4 months, wound up keeping in touch when I left for home.
2 years later, I went to Australia on a working holiday, and worked for a guy who was spitting image of the Kiwi but 20-something years older. Not just physically (same face but thinner on the older guy, exactly the same eyes, same gait, same lanky frame…) but all the same characteristics- the same interests, same reputation for cheerfully getting through girlfriends, loads of the same little quirks in expression and body language. The resemblance was so scary that I actually asked him if he had any relatives in NZ.
He said no, but he lived there for 10 years, from 35 to 25 years ago.
In the same small town as my friend was born, 30 years earlier.
My friend who looks nothing whatever like his dad. I’ve seen pictures.
I know I’m never going to know, but I’m dying to find out… I went to visit the Kiwi friend just after I met the other guy, and I sooo wanted to say something… Didn’t though.
The other is a local weird ‘pub’ that always has the door closed, and blacked out windows, that never seems to have anyone going in or out. I’m sure something dodgy’s going on in there, but not sure exactly what. Brothel? Seems a bit obvious for a drug den, it’s right on the main road (police car passing every few minutes) and is so blatantly dodgy.
Also, possibly connected to whatever’s going on in the pub, a battered old 4WD is almost always parked outside, with the same guy in it. It does vanish sometimes, but if it’s there, it’s in the same place, facing out, with the same late-middle-aged man in. It’s practically on the same street as my house, so I pass all the time, and even in freezing weather late at night he’s still sat in there, watching. I did see him a few weeks ago apparently talking into a police-style comm thing attatched to the dash. He dropped his hand and stopped talking as soon as he noticed me looking, then watched me out of sight.
I probably should be a bit worried, not sure. Mostly curious though.
This is probably about right, but I’m not so sure about the depressed part. She and the new beau are out doing yardwork.

I wonder if my apartment building’s super’s marriage is a sham, if his daughter is really his, and if he isn’t boffing his wife’s brother. When we first moved in, 4+ years ago, the super and the brother were living together. We (and many of our neighbors) just assumed they were together. Then, out of the blue, maybe 3 years ago, we find out the super has a wife in Guyana (the super is white, Jersey born and raised) who just happens to be the sister of who we thought was his boyfriend, and that he had a baby daughter. Some immigration stuff had to be smoothed over, but the wife and the daughter soon moved in, the brother moved into a different apartment in this building, and we were just left scratching our heads.
On a similar note, I’m TAing a class on gender, and I’m really curious about the sexuality and gender identity of my students. I also wonder if they wonder about me. (It’s very meta.) I’m at a very queer-friendly university, and have had transsexual students in the past, and I just really want to know their stories. But it’s a thousand shades of inappropriate for me to ask.
Of my group of friends, one friend was dating a girl for a long time- a few years. I want to know if the girl was a post-op transsexual. Hell, we all wanted to know, but none of us ever asked either of them. We all just… suspected.
I’m not judging. I don’t care one way or the other, really. I just want to know.
I wondered about that, but as I have seen happen, the spikes are easily removable. One pull and they are out, so I can’t imagine that’s it. Unless the explanation is also irrational.
When are Latifah, Jodie, and Condi going to just get it over with and come out, already?
When I go visit my mom, we’re out tooling around town, and she always points out a runner, who lives down the street from her. A scrawny woman of, oh, looks to be in her late 50’s who runs along the streets. Everywhere, miles and miles from her house. Along the main drag. In a fancy neighborhood. Through the parks. Alongside the trail going around the lake. Day or night, summer or winter, snow or rain or in the heat of August, you go to my mom’s town and you will see this mysterious older woman running somewhere. She has a house and a job in the deli at the grocery store. What drives her, at her age, to run run run for hours at a time, for miles and miles? Is she a mental case? Where does she get the energy? What started this?
I would like to know what the deal is with Keanu Reeves. I want to know what he does with his time and money. What’s the status of his sick sister? Is he really a druggie? Is he putting us all on? Pretending to be dumb and spaced out? Gay? Bi? Why doesn’t he play the Hollywood game, why isn’t he married, does he have a girlfriend? Boyfriend? He’s a beautiful mystery to me. I’m glad to see he’s making movies, but I always wonder…what’s the deal with Keanu?
I have been asked, with utter seriousness, by several working women, just what is it I DO all day at home (housewife, often without a car, no young kid in the house). I can almost hear them wonder - stare at the four walls closing in? Scrubbing the grout with a toothbrush? Getting drunk and watching Judge Judy? Working for a phone sex line? 
Oh, and what’s with my ex-boss? The one I dated (platonically, being arm candy for his pretentious outings) for years, and then he all of a sudden married another girl in the office. Then I heard he got divorced and then married, again all of a sudden, to someone else! I want to know why he got divorced and where the new wife came from. (He was a sober, serious, introverted, intelligent person, not at all a player, kind of a stick in the mud, never made an off-color joke or ever raised his voice.)
The real reasons for my sisters last two divorces.
A few things. Mostly having to do with family and friends.
My BFF, I wonder how she pays for everything. I know she makes less than I do (quite a bit less and I’m not rolling in the dough) and I know her parents help her out a lot but from what I can tell they aren’t rich either (and she’s even told me that, plus they are retired as they had her late in life) so how the heck can they write couple thousand dollar cheques to her damn near each month? Ok, a small part of it is jealousy (Dad will sometimes slip me a 20 but that’s about it) but I also worry what will happen to her when they aren’t there? Of course maybe they are hugely rich and just live simply so she’ll get a huge inheritance and it won’t matter.
The other is my brother. I know some of the story, but not all and I’m morbidly curious. Shortly after I had my son, my brother got his long term high school girlfriend pregnant. At some point she had a miscarriage, they broke up and my brother started drinking like a fish (Canada, 18 is legal drinking age and they were just out of school at this point I think). I’m the only family member who knows this, as far as I’m aware, and I really want to know of it was really a miscarriage or not and what happened between them that caused my brother to drink so much at that time. Mostly I think it was a miscarriage and they couldn’t deal with it together so they broke up and it broke his heart. Absolutely none of my business and I’ll never know unless bro and I have a good sit down again like we did the night I found out. 'twas a night of sibling confessions that one.
The OTHER thing I want to know is his relationship with his new girlfriend. He claims they aren’t dating but lots of things point the other direction (nice presents, she came with him to our house for the weekend to keep him company, that sort of thing) she’s more than his buddy’s younger sister that’s for sure. None of my business, but she’s a nice young lady and I hope it goes better than his high school relationship did.
This is me. It varies. Sometimes I am nosy about other couples’ money and other times their sex lives.
Also, I would like to know if my brother and I have different fathers (nobody else has ever even hinted of any doubt~ oh man, they’re not getting it! :p)
Also, there’s a house near here that always seems to have different women and kids in it and I wonder if it’s one of those places where they hide abused women.
Oh yeah, and I would like to know what other people think of me, or if they think anything of me.
There’s a woman who’s been out walking the roads of southern Anne Arundel County practically every weekend for the past dozen years (at least). She’s very intense about it, and looks basically angry with the world as she rapidly walks along Route 2 or the nearby side roads. Since we see her pretty much any time we’re out that way on a weekend morning or early afternoon, it seems to be what she does with her spare time. I’m guessing she’s in her early 60s at present.
I just wonder what Walking Woman’s story is, in general.
My sister received an inheritance of over $500k. Her husband is a lay-about, hasn’t had a real job in years. However, the man is what I call a “serial entreprenuer” - he starts business ventures on a whim, these ventures never panning out:
- Was going to sell cigars for a while
- Then he decided that he was going to open an advertising production studio which focused on radio spots
- Then he started something called “Apartment Channel TV”, where he was to put infomercials on the air for various apartment communities on their Comcast OnDemand channel (this would also bring in work for the production studio, of course). I know of two complexes that actually signed up for this, both complexes having the sort of cash-flow problems that make them unable to afford ineffective advertising campaigns.
- Then he saw some T-shirts with sound-activated designs and spent $$$ on them, renting out a booth in the mall last Christmas, etc. You can see the shirts here (not his site): http://www.raveworx.com/sound-activated-equalizer-t-shirt.html

They don’t have anywhere near the equipment that he’s advertising, but says that he can get it “in a moments notice”, as if there’s warehouses full of deflated yellow and red castles somewhere.
Anyway, how much of my sisters inheritance has she wasted on this man and his crazy ventures? Enquiring minds want to know!
My brother-in-law and his wife both had starter marriages and I’d like to know two things:

I actually friended her on FB and was immediately so horrified with myself that I blocked her.

Reminds me of my last job. The manager loved to see us work long hours. I and the other girl in my position had a contract number, 27 digits long, which we were supposed to record in a list and a couple spreadsheets. The girl (who routinely worked 60 hour work weeks) would hand-copy all the twenty-seven of the digits on a paper list, and then type the number into the spreadsheets reading off of the paper copy. I just copied and pasted the number three times, and only worked about three hours of overtime a week.
The girl got a raise and I got fired. But I got a job offer two days after I got fired and my new job is better anyways.
Wow, this one would really bother me. Is it just bible quotes? No chastising or threats? Is there any particular message they seem to want to get through to you? (Not that you need to tell me what the message is, that’s not my mollyfocking business! 
) Although, I do think that it is your business who is doing this to you.
Was my mother a virgin when she got married?
During the 4 yrs she attended college, a family member told me that she had been anally raped at the campus. She never reported the rape. She also told me that she had had a baby while on spring break, and left it in a dumpster. I’ve always wondered about that. Whether it was true, if so, just a little more detail, please.
Am I the only person who can clearly see how closely Harry resembles Prince Charles? It’s in the eyes and the nose. I think they look more alike than William and Charles.
