If you were really nice, dammit, you’d be cleaning my house!
Yeah, isn’t it awful how our kids shame us… by doing better than we did? :o
Oh, and all you people enjoying the snow? I’m jealous dammit!!
Gotta say, I’m not impressed with chickie-rice soup. I prefer noodles. Next time, I’ll know better. But **FCD ** liked it, so there’s that. We’ve got 4 servings, individually saved, in the fridge. I see at least 2 of them going to lunch with me.
Laundry’s all done. So’s my motivation. But the critters are fed and they’re happy, which is what it’s all about.
The sun is shining as it sinks in the west. Cold night forecast. It’s nice to have our cars in the garage - no ice or frost to scrape, at least in the morning. What happens during work hours is beyond our control.
One more week till vacation. Will it draaaaaaag?? Ya think?
Oooh, thanks FCM!!! That recipe does sound a lot like the chocolate mayo cake I used to make! It’s definitely on the list to make this week, me thinks. Thanks again.
Fortunately, the wind hasn’t blown as hard (lol is that possible?!) as they forecast it would - gusts up to 50 MPH. Thank goodness!! Still raw and cold out, though. Tomorrow brings my grocery shopping–it was just too cold out to go today.
Enjoy what’s left of the weekend, all.
Went for a walk around my yard (we have just under an acre, so you really can take a short walk around it and not look too silly), in the drifts and through the small wood (some might call it a dingle–that’s a silly word, isn’t it?). Feel like I could stay sane for a while longer.
Now I am off to make those wine cookies that were posted in the Cafe thread. And I might make lasagne. Or beer soup. #2 son has friends over. The Husband just brought home an entire kitchen worth of grotty looking cabinets that he says are for the garage (they’re in the garage). He got them from his boss at work. I’m making like an ostrich and ignoring them…
The strongest winds apparently haven’t arrived yet, Herbs**. I just hope the power doesn’t go out before I get this stupid transcript finished. If I’ve done it? Hey, no problem, I’ll curl up in bed with a warm kitty and my headlamp and knit.
Do we have someone doing tomorrow’s MMP? Not that I’m volunteering, just curious.
I agree that noodles are better than rice in soup. Without noodles ya got nuttin’ to slurp up. Me eating chicken noodle soup is not a pretty thing. That’s why I don’t do it in public. Or Publix even.
I apparently have created quite the controversy over my offer to host tomorrow night. Seems several of the husbands have told their wives they’d rather come to men’s night than go to the Chorale performance which they were gonna do because it was thought there’d be no men’s night. I just hope I don’t get named in any divorce cases.
JoeDawg is now back with his daddy. Let’s hope that my strict regimine is carried over on the home front. I fear, however, that will not be the case and I’ll just have to start all over again next time I’m nanny.
Lasagne in oven. Wine cookie dough in fridge. I am going to make a batch of mocha nut butterballs tonight and then watch HP3.
Homicide is still a crime, right?
Well, lessee here…I’ve showered, put the lights and topper on the tree, and even put some of the decorations on the tree.
I’ve also cleaned out the fridge, and rounded up various other crap that needs to go to the dump. Hubby is currently on his way to the dump.
I still need to finish decorating the tree, and I still need to go to the store for my portion of food that I need to bring in to feed the office tomorrow. I really don’t want to go, but it needs to be done.
I’d really like to just take a nice, long nap. Unfortunately, as it’s nearly three o’clock ( shit where did my day go?!), I’ll need to shake a leg and get my ass in gear.
I wish I could take some vacation. I’ve got over three weeks on the books right now, but, I like to hoard it for summer. I’d take a few of the Christmas week days off, but two of my office mates are already on leave, so that leaves just me and the boss. On the other hand, I could take a little leave in January or February and have entire days to myself because the kids would be in school and** Mr. Taters ** would be at work. Hmmm, this sounds like an interesting plan. I’ll have to mull it over. Oh, wait, I’m supposed to go on jury duty sometime in February. Crap! I forgot about that. I was supposed to report in October, but I asked for it to be deferred. I’m not burning leave for jury duty, nuh-uh, no-way, no-how.
You know what I miss? Angel hair. Can’t get it anymore, which means I must craft wintery-wonderland snow stuff for my little village set-up. It’s not hard to do, but I am seriously considering not even messing with it this year.
I guess I should go be productive again.
Yeah, but I think it’s ok if it’s because somebody took the last of the chocolate/ice cream/pie/cake/cookies/beer.
I forgot to mention that I am the recepient of nummy homemade cookies and candies. All kinds of each too! And I don’t have to share cause ol’ y’all know who has his own. Matter of fact earlier today I told him to keep his grubby paws off’n muh cookie and candy stash cause he has his own. I’m all about sharin’ but when he has his own he can’t have mine and his too.
OOH… I have some molasses cookies! Num!
If it were for that, I’d have turned into a serial killer, long ago–food (real food) doesn’t stay long in this house, more’s the pity.
I have to think about this. What are the downsides, again, to homicide?
I think it’s okay as long as it meets the classic defense: “He/she/it needed killin.’”
I have been a good girl this weekend, and am now done with it for the rest of the day. So I’m going to go put my feet up and watch TV with Papa Tigs. And probably with a scaredy-dog on my lap, since rain is scary! Stoopid dog.
Bah. I’d probably go to prison and be gang raped by a bunch of desperate lesbians.
No, that does NOT appeal to me!
It’s too bad you just can’t put some people out, like the trash on Wednesdays (our trash day). That would solve a lot of problems, right there. To be fair, there are some females that should be put to the curb as well.
Yes. The subway has been shut down in parts. We’re home, but we seriously considered staying in Niagara. A lot of the bus service was shut down. The bus we were on had near-whiteout conditions for half an hour. It’s pretty, and I do like snow, but it’s mucking up the whole area. This is the most pre-Christmas snow I can remember since I was a little kid. They’re saying, "coldest winter in 35 years!’ and stuff.
I just skimmed fast, we had a lovely time (although the next time there’s a Winter Storm Warning I will take it seriously) we’ve ordered pizza from a place seven blocks away, and I think we’ll hang out with the cats and be quiet.
Well, here’s mundane for you - I just rolled $25.50 in assorted pennies, nickels, and dimes. That should cover a meal on the road, ya think? I’m going to take it to the credit union tomorrow, although I’ll probably get a hernia hauling it from the car to the lobby.
**rigs ** - verily, there are both men and women, not to mention a few dogs, who deserve to be hauled out with the trash. They’re not even worth recycling sometimes. Surely life would be easier if we could just do that. On the other hand, the occasional pissy moment could result in unnecessary tossage. No easy answers, are there? Hang in there, sweetie.
And so another weekend slips down the drain. I accomplished a little, and wasted a lot of time. Not bad. Not bad at all…
Yeah, I heard that too. I’m not looking forward to it. The snow is nice for Christmas and all – beats a green yuletide – but this is just going overboard a bit. Where’s Ma Nature’s sense of style gone? A little goes a long way. Got that, Ma? Now bring a little sunshine and mild temperature so we can clear some of this away and have a respectable Christmas that we don’t need snowshoes for.
I have no motivation today. I tried working on the project, but I just can’t get my head into it. Blah.
wait… what??? You are coming back, aren’t you? How long will we have to do without you???
no, that’s “No more snow here. YAAAAAAAAYY!!!”
Eh. So what if it is?
I’m starting to feel sort of Grinchy. TVMom was bitching at TVMan that he needs to decorate for Christmas. Pardon me, but is it a law that he must do so? I haven’t felt much like decorating since the parental divorce decree last year, so I’m no help.
Speaking of the PieDad, he’s been out all weekend hanging out with his friends. Bah-humbug.
We’ve probably gotten 3 to 4 inches of snow since I got home.
No, no, it’s “ARRRRRRGH!” Need I remind you I work at a ski resort? Snow, we want. And there’s some promising-looking clouds coming in from the West Coast. crossing fingers
I just went out and adjusted the timer on the pool so it will come on at two a.m. and run until eight a.m. We’re supposed to get below freezing temps, so that’s just to make sure the pump won’t freeze up. It was strange. I was reading a thread in the pit that has absolutely nuttin’ to do with pools or freezin’ temps or anything remotely close and all of a sudden it hit me that I should get up and go do that. Sometimes what goes on inside my haid scares even me.
