Cloud Maiden is leaving for the holidays tomorrow. I have the house to myself for almost a month. With two cats. It’s going to be weird. I don’t really like living by myself. On the other hand, it’ll be nice to able to walk around in my underwear. (I do this when I’m alone, but since Cloud Maiden works from home such moments have been rare.)
Hi Cutie! Miss me much? And this was just 12 hours or so!
Actually, I’m hoping you’re asleep right now…
Sorry to hear about all those medical woes. Why can’t you be on mood stabilizers during the trial? Will this new medication always be a counter-indication for mood stabilizers? That doesn’t sound like a promising product…
And I’m still around for a week and a half. Make good use of me while I’m plentiful
Shouldn’t that have been *auto-*self-preoccupied?
Echo… echo… echo… What?
Heh, I actually could have written that as a satire of “The American Dream.” Especially the 2.4 children bit
Somehow I doubt this is what your star pupil had in mind, though.
as long as he’s not a domject, you’ll be OK… and in leather
Anybody got the time?
That would appear to be the case…
Hey, that’s how it works for most males… love is a hard thing…
Hey, I may disagree with this, but at least it’s conveying a meaningful idea!
You are in for a surprise, dahling…
Like basic writing skills…
Hee, this is fun Keep 'em coming!
Dunno about the handwriting thing. Here kids still need to write their way through primary school… and by then, by Og, they can write legibly or they’re in trouble with the teacher! Jusrt how early do American kids start submitting printed work, nowadays?
FCM, yes, that commercial is very definitely airing here. I think it’s hilarious Surprisingly, the ultra-orthodox actually haven’t got their tsitsiot all in a twist about this, either. I think they’ve learned from past experience that they’ll do better to wait for it to go away rather than give the advertisers more, free publicity.
SnowBunny – Yay on the new job! Congrats
I hesitate to ask, but… cite? (d & r)
OK, OK… put that trout down, I’m just being a smart-ass (as usual :o)
Yeah, it’s a drive by, my back is having spasms and I can’t sit in this chair for very long at a time. If it’s not one thing, it’s another…
Great OP boofae! Las Vegas is not at the top of my places that I want to visit, but it is on the list. I want to stay at the Bellagio, look at pretty things, eat fabulous food, attend shows, and watch the fountains and the light shows. I’m glad that you had a good vacation. (Holiday?)
BBBobbio please add me as one of your admirers, you are one of the good guys!
I need to share my granddaughter in her Christmas outfit , which took me months to find online. My daughter said NO red, NO velvet, and NO plaid, so I asked her what she wanted for Tea’s dress, and she said “Gold”. And so gold is what she received. I think I am only gonna spoil her a little bit. Of course I will spoil my granddaughter more…lol!!!
I just had my performance development review with Tin Knickers. Turns out she doesn’t like my email out of office message 'cos it’s not friendly enough, and is definitely concerned about the fact that I’m not bothered about it. My message says I’m not in the office until whatever date, and emails will be read when I return. What more does she wants? Have a nice day? Bah!
Rigs - it was a totally different environment from the UK and I know some people had trouble adjusting to it. I’ve been to the US many times so I’m more used to the way things are, but Vegas seems to be a planet unto itself. 'im indoors has finally realised that it’s true when I’ve told him he’d never survive in the US outside a major city if he couldn’t drive. He didn’t believe me before, but he knows now that it’s true.
The best part? Coming home to a proper cup of tea!
DB, that pic of Nelly is so cute! She really does have the look of having had too much egg nog. Congrats, Nelly.
SpecialOne, how’s your Dad doing? Tonight is the last night of Hannakah, will you have a big present tonight? (sorry for the possible mis-spelling there, and Happy Hannakah to all who celebrate, btw!)
Oooh, Kai, baby Tea looks beautiful in that gold dress - like a little angel, all she needs are the gossamer wings! {{{{{gentle hugs}}}}} for your back, hope that you’ll be feeling better soon. It’s good to see you though.
Back to work, after pondering the possibility of putting in for retirement for just a bit last night (yes, I am eligible, but it wouldn’t be enough to live on, unfortunately). Oh well, at least the option -is- there. Happy Tuesday, all!
Out of hospital, in a Rehab center, where he’ll stay between 2-4 weeks before going home.
He’s progress is, as far as I can tell, as expected now (after getting rid of most of the edemas which postponed his initial release.)
Thanks for asking
No… first, there’s no special significance to the last night of Hanukkah. And the whole gift-giving think just isn’t done as much over here. It’s not really a “commercial” holiday at all – it’s really a pretty minor holiday, but for the fact that kids are out of school for the duration (which makes it a pain for parents with younger children – with my “little” ones close to 11 this is – thank Og! – no longer a problem)
Tea looks so sweet; that’s a lovely dress. (Can’t even imagine her in red or plaid; gold suits her perfectly.) She really does look angelic.
Glad to hear your Dad has made it to rehab, finally, SO. And that commercial is a hoot.
Heee, funny picture of Nelly.
Yay on the job, nashi.
Hi Roo!
Glad the first day of the new job went well, snowbunny!
Those sentences are truly painful, SC. (Do we have a nickname for you yet? My brain is not awake enough to do more than initials.) Did they even read what they wrote? Seems like reading the sentences aloud would have prevented much of the pain. I used to have a list of bad translations from when I taught German. People can write the most unintentionally funny sentences when they haven’t studied enough!
BooFae, why did she bother telling you this if she wasn’t going to tell you what she didn’t like or make a constructive suggestion. My standard out-of-office is very similar to yours. Only difference is that I add something like: “If you need an immediate response, please contact Tin Knickers.” (I’m sure she’d be happy to respond to any urgent inquiries! :D)
I didn’t get to bed quite as early as I wanted to, but once again slept all night. Yay! I’ve eaten breakfast, need to make lunch (no, NOL), and generally get ready. Don’t wanna, but gotta.
I really want it to be Firday. I think I’m overdue for a day off.
When I started the drug trial, they screened out Bipolar I and even though Bipolar II is listed in the ‘official rulebook of mental stuff,’ there’s still not alot known or studied about it. I’m not sure what my doctor’s position is on it, but I guess we’ll find out today when I email her some links from that website that I referred to earlier. Anyways, though, the drug does seem to be helpful for your standard, run of the mill depression. And that’s what they are really looking for in the study. Not a bunch of really crazy people, like me.
Kai, your granddaughter is adorable! Hope your back feels better soon.
If the stupid frigging weather people are going to go all apoplectic about the approaching ‘ice storm’, and I’m going to have to get up at 4 am to go driving around to check the roads, then the very least it could do is, I dunno, PRODUCE SOME DAMN ICE!!!
It’s raining here, in case anyone cares.
We have school, and I have a morning full of meetings. And then, I promise you all, a VERY short afternoon.
And ten toes on my feet, makes… (see that’s proof that men are more intelligent than women – women can only count to 20 on their appendages… :p)… 21!
Nothing wrong with Crazy. Crazy People is good fun
Now, depression… that sucks… But that’s a whole 'nother kettle of fish.
IOW – joking aside, you’re not “crazy,” and don’t let anybody make you think you are, 'K?
**GT **-- good morning! I know it’s not terribly nice, but I’m calling SC “Spaz”… at least until she gets mad and throws something at me  (at which point she will have earned her name :D)
doggio I advise you to make sure Nelly does not have access to a chainsaw.
snowbunny yay on a good first day on the job!
tashii yay on your new job!
CutiePie hope everything goes well.
Shadow you live in California. All that stuff should seem perfectly normal.
Up and caffienatin’ here. Ok, been caffienated for a while. I put a pork roast on the smoker when I got up this mornin’. It’ll be for dindin tomorrow cause tonight’s dindin is yesterday’s leftovers. Why am I smokin’ it today then, you ask? Cause, to me smoked meat <snerk> is better the day after its been smoked. I’ll wrap it up tight in foil when it’s done and tomorrow I’ll let it warm up slowly, all wrapped up, in the crock pot. MMMMMMMM… 'twill be good!
Today I WILL rake leafs. Leafs is too a word! I looked it up. Oh and the high today is predicted to be 83 Amurrkin degrees. Weird.
Kai, that’s an adorable picture! And a lovely dress - you have impeccable taste.
That reminds me - I want to buy a Christmas-y outfit. Of course I can’t afford much on my current budget… maybe I’ll try hopping around the used clothing stores in Wicker Park.
