My taste in guys tends to run outside the norm for girls my age, especially at the college I attend. Rather than the suntanned surfer or the fraternity boy, my tastes run toward the geekier side of things. Just the thought of a quiz bowl tournament sets my heart a-flutter. Still, liking nerdy boys isn’t that uncommon. However, I find two specific physical traits very attractive that would be villified by many as flaws. I don’t know why, but I have a thing for guys with buckteeth. There’s just something so adorable about it that I can’t explain. I’m also fascinated by acne scars. They add a degree of character and interest to a person’s face. I’ve never met anyone who agrees with me regarding buckteeth and acne scars, though to be fair I’ve never discussed them with anyone for fear of looking like some kind of weirdo.
So, do you find anything attractive about your desired sex(es) that is generally considered to be a fault? And glasses are generally considered to be hot, so no fair putting them down as your answer.
I actually like girls a little on the chubby side. Don’t want them to look like Divine but a little extra flesh is a-ok in my book. And I really like it when a plain looking girl get all made-up. Someone you wouldn’t normally look at twice, all dressed up, is really sexy.
This isn’t terribly strange, but I like fuzzy guys. Hairy legs, hairy chests, hairy backs, beards, etc. Which seems at odds with the current trend of male models frantically dipilitating themselves.
Chubbiness is very hot. So is dorkiness, a woman with wire rimmed glasses, a star trek shirt and mittens is much hotter than a woman in a tight & tiny A&F t-shirt would be.
I agree with you about everything but the beards (assuming you mean full beards and not goatees, which drive me crazy). I don’t think liking chest hair is uncommon at all, despite what the popular media have decided is “out.” Thankfully, I am seeing more and more models sporting chest hair, so the shaving/waxing fad seems to be waning, as I knew it would. And I think back hair is hot.
Ooh, I like crooked teeth too. Cowboy’s are funny, and I love that. I dated another guy that had a dead tooth up front and he was terribly self-conscious about it. I thought it was hot.
Scars, although I think it’s not that unusual to like them. Cowboy’s missing a finger, and I think that’s pretty hot too. I like a body that shows it’s not afraid of hard work - a good black fingernail is nice too.
I like grey hair too, especially around the temples. I think maybe a lot of people like that, but the people wearing it don’t especially. Double hot though!
i find the current style of what is to be considered “attractive” in women unnattractive. the cookie cutter appearance of super models and celebrities turns me off. i am attracted to middle aged women who look like real people rather than somthing made from a standard kit.
allison janey, imho, is one of the hottest women on television. likewise, oprah winfrey. jessica simpson? not so much
bonnie raitt: very attractive. brittany spears? leaves me cold.
patricia richardson is way more attractive than heidi keppert (home improvement mother verses “tool girl”)
I’ve been known to go mental over a tall skinny geek who can rank on me as hard as I rank on him and whose mental gymnastics could get him a place in the Cirque du Cerveau*.
*I’m sure that’s a crap translation. I used an online English-to-French dictionary.
I find nerdy girls extremely attractive. Especially those who don’t wear makeup, dye/gel their hair, or do anything to adorn their body other than keeping clean.
Men:
I like them a little chubby, and on the shy side, but more than willing to be dominant in bed.
Also, a bald head turns me on.
And I would rather a man be really hairy on their body than have no hair at all.
Women:
I like them short, and a bit chubby as well.
Chipmunk cheeks and glasses are a huge turn on.
I prefer cup size to be C or smaller.
Both:
As long as you are a bit geeky (into sci-fi and gaming of some sort), have a warm smile, and are honest and loving, and are not afraid to be a bit freaky, it’s all good.
I find baldness to be a turn-on. My hubby has a full head of grey hair, but I wouldn’t mind a bit if he lost it. Of course, he may feel differently.
To me, men like Mitch Pileggi, Patrick Stewart, and Jerry Doyle beat all your hairy Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Russell Crowe types.
Dunno where this attraction to bald pates came from. My dad had a full head of curly hair till the day he died, and so have most of the men in my family.
I like weird or overbite teeth too. They push a person’s lip out in a nice way. I also really like unibrows. I always have since I was a little kid. I think it came from a movie I saw when I was a kid where someone says that you can tell a werewolf by their joining eyebrows, and the movie was somehow sexy, and it warped my mind. I wouldn’t necessarily like to see someone have an overbite and a unibrow at the same time though. That’s going overboard.
You know how some people’s eyes have white showing under the iris’s? I can’t really think of who right now, but that drives me really nuts too. I think some people describe that as a shifty look, but I like it.
For intimacy (though oddly not for simple looking-at), I like my guys on the hairy side–not back hair, and I’m not incredibly fond of facial hair, but other than that…fuzzy legs and arms and chest and stomach? Mmmmm.
A generally nerdy appearance, including glasses, is pretty much a necessary condition.
