“The Blair Witch Project”. I still want my money back!
No. Stay well away from that one. As far as I remember, the beheading videos were mostly fairly poor quality affairs filmed from the other side of the room. The Russian soldier video was very close-up, and with sound. Well, gurgling.
::Snerk snort:::
No word yet if the prof has been arrested; none of the local papers have reported anything.
I had a conversation with my advisor this afternoon, and he told me no one knew what was going on, and that it had been a complete surprise when the department faculty found out about it.

My sister got a skinny sickly cat from a barn. It had kittens two weeks later and they were so gross. They were still clinging to life, but riddled with worms eating them alive.
Another cat that had a litter went across the road and came back with a woodcock for the litter. The cat got hit and had bones sticking out through the skin and meowed for about 20 minutes until it died. After that no cats were allowed outside again. It is disturbing me right now thinking about it.
I could have lived without seeing a deer shot and laying on it’s side with blood shooting five feet into the air every heart beat.
My uncle after a coal dust explosion. It was about 90 % burn coverage. You know what, morphine doesn’t always work.
Listening and seeing someone with a continuous death rattle in their lungs, and the long pause between gasps. You wonder if they just died for a couple seconds, and I can’t stand to hear someone with a chest cold now.
I just remembered something I saw recently. I left work one day a few weeks back and went to the bus stop per usual. Plastered on two sides of the bus shelter was some kind of full colour, glossy political protest poster from some Sri Lankan coalition against the Tamil Tigers with the heading, “You too, Canada?” The image that was the focus of the poster was of a Sri Lankan family – mother, father, and son, daughter neither of which could have been older than 4 or 5 – all slaughtered on a concrete floor, covered in blood. The father appeared to have had part of his head blown off. The floor, too, had a large pool of partly coagulated blood. Fresh kill. It was sickening, and I could only remember thinking: What the holy fuck do they hope to accomplish with this “message?” Was it supposed to shock people into action to protest the Tigers? Because all it did was offend me, particularly because any child could have seen this and been given nightmares about it for months.
Was that the one where the women were strangled, impaled, garroted, etc while engaging in sex?
Anaamika, I’m sorry, I missed where you said you saw her website. My bad.
I once saw a cat get hit by a car. I was thirteen, and we were driving home from my aunt’s. The cat was running across the street, and hit the back wheels of a car-I doubt the driver even knew. It bounced and landed in a heap. I cried for days.
People who suffered from the same sort of condition the Elephant Man had, to a lesser degree. All those little bumps all over their skin. I feel bad, but it’s so oogy.
Once when I was in 10th grade, we had this girl who was a hardcore, militant vegan. Okay, fine, that’s her business. But we were doing a project called an “I-Speech”, and her topic was slaughterhouses. She showed a video of a pig being slaughtered. Good god, they basically slit its throat, hung it up side down, as it dyed, and cut its hooves off while the poor thing squealed in pain and anguish. (Now, I’m older-don’t most slaughterhouses zap them with electricity then dent in its head with a spike?) If I could go back in time, I’d leave the room. Oh, and did I mention this class was during lunch time? We’d go to class for half-an hour, go to lunch, then back to class for another half hour. She was allowed to show it right before lunch.
The Russian beheading. I looked away very quickly but the sounds were horrifying. That’s by far the worst I’ve seen.
A while back I stumbled across a few photos of the aftermath of one of the famous serial killers. Dahmer I think? The body was… opened up and taken apart and just laying there. It was sickening.
There are a lot of things I wish I hadn’t seen online but those 2 are at the top of my list. I think it’s more disturbing to me because it’s what people intentionally do to other people - rather than a freak accident or disfigurement.
I’m curious to know what tops Gabriela’s list. But then again, do I really want to know?
This thread makes me want to, in no particular order, vomit and curl up in the fetal position.
I’ve seen Harlequin fetus, cyclops kitty, tubgirl…nearly everything on the internet that’s been named here, except someone dying. I almost watched the Budd Dwyer video, but stopped it before the actual death. I knew that once I saw it, I wouldn’t be able to wipe away the image.
On a more personal note, when my cat Ruffles had her first litter of kittens, one of them died. Dad took the kitten’s body across the street to the dumpster, but Ruffles dragged it back and kept licking it and mewing at it like it was still alive. Broke my heart, it did.
Well, moments ago I was browsing through a community dedicated to strange/humorous pictures and videos. All was well, until I clicked on this one video…
…that depicted a man urinating through a large piercing inserted perpendicularly in his penis. It kept twitching.
My aunt’s car got totaled in Madison, when someone ran a red light at high speed. Her husband picked us up in a pickup and we went to the junkyard where the car was, to get personal property out of the car. We fouhnd a small compact with the ass end shoved into the front seat area. The floor had coagulated blood about 2 inches deep. After serving that we almost got killed by a circus truck. They were moving to the next town. My aunt did not drive in Madison for about 20 years after that.
I came upon an accident on a busy two lane road in Wisconsin about 3 seconds after a car + truck + motorcycle accident. The cycle driver was obviously dead in the middle of the road. His passenger, a woman, had the front half of her right foot torn off and was sitting on the road, “scooting” backward, and screaming. I can still see that foot, or what was left of it.
Well, I accidentally walked in on my boyfriend’s dad taking a crap once…luckily it’s happened to him before (only one bathroom in that place, door’s usually closed, questionable lock) and his hand immediately covered his goodies.
Not as fun: I saw four videos on ogrish.com back when it was usable that I regret seeing because they still pop up and haunt me –
Stock footage of soldiers in some march somewhere passing and shooting up this guy tied up and laying (awake) on a hillside with rifles…I don’t know where, maybe southeast asia…I remember one of the bullets hitting him in the mouth/cheek (and the camera went in for a close up at that point) and can’t forget it.
Footage of the Japanese students that were kidnapped in the middle east and beheaded. Just struck me as ludricrous.
Footage of someone taking down the corpse of a young woman who had hung herself, and commenting on and fondling her large breasts…
And footage of people somewhere pulling a guy apart by his limbs tied to some jeeps, and then the jeep dragging his top half drove in circles while the people ran excitedly behind it whooping…also don’t remember the location, maybe south america?
sigh
Normally I enjoy watching surgery on television, but I can not watch face lift procedures. All of that, just to remove some wrinkles? No way.
But the thing that haunted me was just text, no images…other than the plethora of horrible images my brain conjured up. I couldn’t get it out of my head for weeks and it comes back to me periodically. A true Snopes story about a man, his dog, the man’s best friend and a hot spring. It makes me ill and horribly emotional whenever I think of it. I’m not linking it, most of you have probably seen it and I don’t want to accidentally click on it and read any bit of that again.
To this day, I have a hard time just going to Snopes for anything out of fear I’ll hit that link.
That one bothers me too, even though I know it’s fake.
Also, the video of the kickboxer that gets a broken bone in his leg, then tried to stand on it .
God yes. It’s very tame compared to other stuff mentioned, but it made me retch when I saw it. It pops up into my head from time to time, and makes me queasy.
That was awsome! I couldn’t stop looking at it.
When I first started using the internet, I did a search for “weird”. I was expecting weird=funny. What I got, was pictures of the results from “men vs machine” scenarios in which the machines won. One guy had been attacked by his own lawn mower.
Then a couple of years later, I saw, heard and smelled, firsthand, the results of “man vs. gas grill”.
Another update…
The prof was arrested in North Carolina, where he’s awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.

If you don’t like that, don’t read a Chuck Palahniuk story called “Hot Potting.”
I work for a stock footage company and one of the tapes we received that I had to log in was about 15 minutes of torture footage from (Iraq?) It showed close up shots of hands being cut off w/ machetes, arms broken by sitting them upon two bricks and smashing the unsupported section w/ a stick, people being blown up, 4 men thrown off a roof as the camera follows their descent and shows them hitting the ground. Also a long close up scene of a man being beheaded. The worst (even though the others showed people being killed) were tongue amputations.
Someone would pull a person’s tongue out of their mouth, and while holding onto the tip, slice at it with a razor blade until it was severed. The blood was just gushing. shudder
