Yeah, but 97 other grams of carbs (88 if you take out the 9g of fiber), likely from the four slices of white bread.
That’s why I always order mine with chocolate syrup on the side.
Actually, the Double Down has fewer calories and less fat than many fast food sandwiches. It’s not a great dietary choice by any means, but neither is it an exceptional example of lethal fast food.
I don’t buy the sodium count. That Double Down was the saltiest thing ah ever et. Like burn your mouth salty.
Try the new sandwich they have - it has just one patty, sauce, cheese and bacon, on a bun, actually edible without using tongs or 40 napkins…
Did you read your link? There’s nothing on that list that comes close in terms of calories, and only one than is anywhere near the fat content of the Double Down (although still lower.)
It can’t be that bad; it has lettuce and tomatoes. Vegetables!
Did you read the link? All the calorie and fat counts listed are higher than the KFC DD.
Taste is a horrible indicator of sodium content. A cup of cottage cheese has several times more sodium than an order of fries.

I have no idea how you could so thoroughly misread that page.
What-no bacon?

This isn’t as ridiculously calorie laden as you’d think. It does look funny.
I was thinking about the sandwich in the OP and got confused.
I came into say that.
The Double Down is getting a bad rap. It’s not THAT bad.
I’d eat one of those before half the shit on the Carl’s Jr. menu.
Well, sure. Half the things on the menu? Even if you pick the healthier items, they’re going to add up.
KFC gave us the Double Down.
Carl’s Jr. gave us the Kentucky Bourbon burger.
No contest.
Hey, just try the foot-long cheeseburger.
The burger in the OP looks more silly than horrifying. If it was made with two thick slabs of Texas Toast and two slices of cheese you’d have the same thing except without the “Two grilled cheese sandwiches!” gimmick.
This was just featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

This thing reminds me of this thread from a few months ago about “grilled cheese for grown ups”:
