What is the single most unhealthy thing available at a fastfood place?

The subject line pretty much sums up the question I’m asking here. After reading a little bit about the kids suing McDonalds, I decided to go on a quest looking for the most unhealthy object I could find. Since unhealthiness can be measured in different ways, I decided to put this thread up in IMHO.

My nomination(s) both happen to be from Sonic.

First the Bacon cheeseburger, with 727 cal (442 fat cal), 66 grams of fat, 19 saturated. 96 mg of chol, and rounding it all out with 1433 mg of sodium.

I also have to mention the most unhealthy drink I found while I’m at it, also from Sonic. The “Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Shake”, with 1007 cal (489 fat cal), 54 grams of fat, 36 saturated, 61 chol and 687 sodium.

Can anyone beat those?

Carl’s Jr. Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger has 920 cal (449 from fat), 50 fat grams (21 saturated), 156 mg cholesterol, and 1734 mg of sodium.

Mayonnaise.

You guys are making me hungry.

IIRC, Schlotzky’s has a 2600 calorie sandwich. Not necessarily unhealthy, but you wouldn’t want to eat one every day.

From the fascinating and mildly terrifying Restaurant Confidential:

Wendy’s Classic Triple with everything (3 slices of cheese) - 1030 calories, 65 grams if fat (29 saturated)

Taco Bell Mucho Grande Nachos - 1320 calories, 82 grams of fat (26 saturated)

Burger King Double Whopper w/Cheese - 1020 calories, 65 grams of fat (27 saturated)

Denny’s Lumberjack Slam (grilled ham, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausage links, 2 eggs, 3 hotcakes w/marg & syrup) - 1490 calories, 80 grams of fat (20 saturated)

The book didn’t cover Jack in the Box items, but I’m going to guess the Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger has got to be way the heck up there as well. They might have the info on their website.

I always thought Long John Silver’s was the worst fast food place. If not, it surely ranks up there.

I heard that the french fry is the single nastiest thing you can ingest.

2 tablespoons of Mayonnaise has 24 grams of fat in it. If you ate, say, a cup of mayo (about the size of a big hamburger), that would be about 16 tablespoons, which would be about 190 grams of fat, or about 1700 calories.

Whoa, here it is under the “mall food” section. (I was only looking under “fast food.”)

Large Turkey Original (34oz) - 2080 calories, 104 grams of fat (45 saturated)

I’m going to guess that’s not a single-person order though, being more than 2 pounds. Not sure if that fits the criteria of the OP or not. If you’re going to include single orders that are intended for more than one person though, you’re going to have to include pizzas, and I’m going to guess you could EASILY pack 5000+ calories on a pizza, what with stuffed crust, meat-lovers, double-crust options, etc.

I think I have the winner!

In a WW dining out guide, the Schlotzskys Deluxe Original (Lrg.) weighs in at 56 points and researching on the Web shows calorie ranging from 1785-2368 calories. One sandwich with that many calories, not including chips or a drink. I just can’t imagine it.

An interesting Web site:

If you eat one of those on your own, and you’re not a bodybuilder or pro athlete…

At most of them it’s the scenery.

I’m guessing the Hot Brown from the Dwarf House would compete, although I can’t find any nutritional info on it online.

It’s a fried chicken breast and fired potatoes smoothered with gravy and cheese. Can’t be good for you.

I doubt that any fast-food restaurant can compete with the house special at Sodolak’s Original Country Inn in Snook, TX: chicken-fried bacon. Served with a side of cream gravy, of course.

But it does sound good.

Between that, Schlotzky’s and Wendy’s there may not be anything heavier until Somebody comes out with a Fried Chicken Fettucini Alfredo Sandwich.

Nah. Just take that Wendy’s Classic Triple and sprinkle weight-gaining powder on it. Liberally.

Jack in the Box Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger: 1020 calories, 71 grams of fat. In searching for that, I found out that JITB now has a TRIPLE Ultimate Cheeseburger. It’s like a days meal (and then some), all in one!

Ounce for ounce, wouldn’t it have to be those McDonalds “pies”:
deep-fried sugar and starch. No fruit that I’ve ever seen.
No redeeming qualities whatsoever.
(At least a cheeseburger has some protein.)

I heard somewhere that the worst food out there, in terms of %age of calories coming from fat, is chili cheese fries with ranch dipping sauce. Makes sense to me.
