Thirsty, or hungry?

Been thinking again. Hence this scientific query:
When one want’s coffee, or beer, or milk, whatever other than water to drink, is that desire triggered by the hunger or the thirst part of the brain.
Does substituting other liquids for water confuse your brain into thinking that you want those substances instead of water?
How about milkshakes, or soups. Old time beer (mead) was considered a food, right?
I know people who never drink unflavored water. Never!
I seek answers, not opinions. But i this fits better in IMHO, that’s okay. :cool:
