Why? There’s a Chinese spammer shitting up the site, and I have to wait a minute between each report.

You don’t need to report more than one of his posts. The mods can look up his posting history and remove them all. Just one time should be enough. It will get their attention.
Why in such a hurry? 60 seconds is time enough for you to enjoy a nice fish paste snack from Yu Wan Mei. American consumer masses agree: it fish time!
Actually, we only see reports from forums we moderate. I happened to be browsing Cafe Society when I saw the spam in question, and removed it, it’s duplicates in other forums, and the user name responsible. But I never saw a thread report, because the guy hadn’t hit the Pit yet. So reporting spam posted in multiple forums will help ensure a faster response by increasing the odds that the report will end up in the inbox of someone who’s currently online.
On the other hand, you guys are pretty good at spotting this stuff on your own. If a spammers hitting multiple forums, odds are good that he’s already been reported multiple times, so don’t feel you have to race to get that report in. There’s a lot of eyes out there already.
Lastly, the reason we have a delay between reporting posts is so trolls can’t pound on the button and send dozens of reports in a few seconds.

Understood, Miller. I had forgotten that you mods only monitor certain forums, so multiple reports would indeed be helpful.
