In short, a big money Republican donor has been inviting Thomas on swanky yacht and resort trips for free, and ethics rules require disclosure of these sorts of gifts. What can be done about it? Probably nothing, unless John Roberts has any power (or, less likely, inclination) to do anything. Republicans in the Senate certainly won’t cooperate.
