Y’know, now that you mention it, I can’t actually think of a depiction of Jesus as blonde, or any other hair color besides brown. Kind of odd, now that I think about it. Wonder how that happened. Sure, probably blondes and redheads weren’t common back then, but why the relative lack of black haired depictions?
As for ‘why not depicted with black hair,’ depictions of Jesus began, for the most part, in Northern European countries. That’s where the tradition of oil-painting illustrations of Biblical subjects developed, generally speaking. (Though oil painting itself may first have occurred further east.)

It’s not uncommon at all. It’s actually common, verging on very common. Is ‘very common’ redundant? OK, it’s ubiquitous. Depictions of The Jesus Man as he might have actually looked are rare. Very rare, if that’s not redundant. Even if it is.
I meant brown vs. blonde hair. My stereotypical image of White Jesus is very strongly dark-haired.
Up to a point, as Popper would say, the only people we should not be tolerant about are the ones that are intolerant.
And that takes us to what FOX news (actually they’re opinion shows, but until they take away the “Fox News” logo when they appear, this applies), Currently guys like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carson are constantly falsely screaming “fire” in a crowded theater, and don’t care if their efforts convince many to violently get rid of “the meddlesome” priest people the right wing targets.
There is another word for intolerance: “assholery”. There is absolutely no valid justification for tolerating assholery if the means to counter it is available. Tolerating the individual as a person is preferable, but their assholery should be fought. Tolerate the bigot, excoriate their bigotry.
It has to be mentioned also that Popper did prefer to not arise against assholes when they are discussing with others, or debating. Unfortunately, many on the right, like Trump and Fox news are choosing to not debate; to not let their followers see what the other side has, they only report a caricature of what the opposition proposes.
This is what I always bring up. A white baby in this era in this place would’ve been on a shishkabob menu within hours of birth, side of placenta.

No, not the blood bible bs. But I see how it might be seen that way now that I read it. Sorry on that. I just think a glowing white young and fair-haired rockstar like Jesus looks in modern religious items would not have been welcome in an era like his.

I read on Twitter (the finest news source) that Tucker Carlson claimed he doesn’t know what Replacement Theory is. I’m limited in what I can search for right now. Surely he didn’t claim that?
No. He’s trying to weakly claim that he’s not to blame because the shooter is crazy, and since the manifesto was rambling and disjointed that it couldn’t be considered political. He also whined that anyone criticizing him is trying to take away his First Amendment rights. Basically, Carlson is yet again the victim here.
