THis just in: Roger Clemens is a child molesting perv

No.

Age of consent rules vary wildly in the US, and worldwide. In Idaho and Hawaii the age of consent is 14; South Carolina too, but only for heterosexual encounters. Connecticut, Colorado, and Virginia are all at 15.

Thus, ‘banging 15 year olds’, as you say, is perfectly legal in 6 US states. I know this isn’t GQ, but some level of factual rigor is appropriate, wouldn’t you agree?

Wait, I thought that it was still illegal for someone over 18 to have intercourse with a 15 year old, even where 14 was the age of consent. Is this wrong?

The reference I used seems to be either outdated of hopelessly wrong – checking other sources I find 16 as the most common AOC in the US, but wide differences depending upon the source. One says only South Carolina has consent at age 14 (for females), another adds Iowa and Hawaii to that list, and factors in parental consent.

Whatever the age of consent in that state or country, then that age is deemed sufficient to make an informed choice. So, if a 14 year-old girl in South Carolina wants to date Roger Clemens, and her parents are OK with it, then it’s perfectly legal.
