I would like a definition of “ratfuck,” from the OP specifically.
What type of reasoning is this? Are we at war with Russia? No we are not. It’s weird seeing this xenophobia from members of the open border party.
Who? The Green Party? Or are you referring to the party where Obama deported more people than Bush? That open border party?
Are you kidding me? Trump got lucky as fuck. He had a number of things dovetailing at just the right time, some of which he may have had an active hand in (cough collusion cough).
So, in your world, did the Russians not try to rig our election, hack into sensitive networks, and post systematized propaganda against us? Them’s the facts. Just because war hasn’t been formally declared doesn’t mean it’s not going on as we speak.
Xenophobia? No. It’s not hating everything and everyone foreign (cough Republicans cough). Nice attempted exaggeration, though.
I watched that election like a hawk, I saw Trump flying all over the Midwest and giving multiple rallies in a week, going on this crazy lecture circuit tour…absolutely busting ass with the stump speeches, even though all they were, were the same regurgitated boilerplate rhetoric he’d already delivered at the previous rally. It didn’t matter, he was out there connecting with people, including in areas that were previously blue as fuck. By any objective standard, he campaigned very aggressively. It’s impossible for me to just chalk his success up to “luck”, even though you’re correct that certain other things dovetailed to contribute to it.
You see it as busting his ass, I see it as self-stroking his insatiably hungry ego with rallies. Tomatoes, tomottoes.
Can’t get the Evangelicals on board with the Stonepublicans.
Or, in more words: The Libertarian Party has long positioned itself as “socially liberal, fiscally conservative”, which is a great soundbite and really enthralls people who want to smoke weed while not paying taxes, but is utter poison to people who think social matters are the government’s concern and won’t be happy until everyone (but them) is living under the most restrictive possible implementation of pseudo-Old Testament law.
That’s just normal third party politics. If they were good politicians, they’d join a major party and work to make changes instead of joining a third party and working to make excuses.
Both Ron and Rand were/are Republicans. Rand Paul especially has no desire to make himself utterly irrelevant.
This guy…
He was twice elected governor of New Mexico.
As a Republican. Which rather proves Derleth’s point.
Emphasis added. He’s obviously not talking about Evangelicals, but exactly the type of Republicans for whom the Libertarian party has some natural appeal. It wouldn’t have taken many of those in the right places to swing the election. It’s all about the strategery! ![]()
Not quite. I am pointing out he was a decent politician and so that’s not the reason he went third party.
Real fiscal conservative, or never-met-a-tax-cut-they-didn’t-love fiscal conservative?
The Libertarian party has never had real political power, so it’s hard to say how they would act. We only know what they purport to stand for, and they absolutely stand for real fiscal conservatism. I think most would say real and scary.
Except for the ones that stand for nationalizing the precious metal industry.
I’m not a libertarian but I’ve got buddies who are. They’re basically rocker/hippie dudes like me, and they voted third-party.
It might be a hijack, but I’m curious what this is about as I’ve never heard of it. Can you clarify? Or, was that joke?
I assume it meant that Libertarians want a return to the gold standard, which, IMHO, is an absolutely ridiculous idea.
Wait a minute. Did Jill Stein actually sit next to Michael Flynn at a dinner? For reals? If so, then:
Lock. Her. Up!
