I have to agree with Coldfire on this one. It’s incredibly difficult to take someone seriously about board administration when they have less than 100 posts. Heck, I don’t trust most people about board adminstration unless they have Moderator, or even better, Administrater under their names.
Another thing I find interesting, all you newbies seem very sure of yourself and strong…as long as you stick around in ATMB, where Tuba won’t let things get out of hand, and where posters like Coldfire, MysterEcks, and SPOOFE recgonize and respect the forum rules. Why don’t you step out to the Pit and bitch about the “mean old regs” where it’s appropriate?
I am, by no means, inviting you to join me, or anyone else in the Pit. However, if you are deadset on “taking Coldfire down a notch”, or show him that he doesn’t deserve the respect that he is given, why don’t you point that out to him in the Pit? It’s hard to take anybody seriously when they hide behind Tuba’s skirt.
And the second Tuba (in all her great and glorious wisdom) closes this thread and tells us to take it elsewhere, you will go back to the woodwork, and silently stew about how we’re all a bunch of mean weanies, until someone else starts a nice, safe thread in ATMB. THen the whole cycle will begin again.
So, the moral of the story? Either put up, or shut up. Coldfire will stand up for himself, and not back down, no matter what forum he is in. Maybe you should take a page from his book. Whether he deserves the board’s respect or not, he certainly has it. If you have a problem with it, please, let us all know.

And like I said before, the only time I pay attention to post count is when it comes to administration matters, and even then, I tend to pay more attention to admins and mods than I do to the average every day poster.

Regardless of your post count, I generally have no respect for you because of your paranoid theories that lack any supporting evidence and your ability to infer wildly inaccurate things from other people’s posts. In short, the real newbies are generally ignorant of administration matters (this should be a logical conclusion), while you are willfully ignorant of them.
Hey, Bar’ems, m’man, can you provide a cite of the ratio between posts that talk about “how grandly we are respected” to ones that aren’t?

Mind the first sentence, I specifically stated that your post count, in general, does NOT matter. I can see where the confusing arose among those who are not easily inclined to read between the lines. It was late last night when I posted it, so I’ll clarify now.
If you have been here for a few months (like a lot of “complainers” in this thread), AND you have a grant total of about 100 posts, AND the majority of them are spent in the Pit attacking “established” posters (for lack of a better word, trust me, I do not mean to imply any eliticism (sp?), OR in ATMB complaining about the way the board is run, THEN people will not take you seriously.
From each and every one of these whiners I have yet to see a genuine contribution. Seriously, why don’t you give it a go? See what you can add to the community. Post a good GQ, participate in a GD, say something MPSIMS-y, show us your HO, post a rant about something other than a “reg” who has never conversed with you before. THEN you might gain some of the credibility you all so seriously lack.
See, if Spoofe here would debate the existence of a forum in ATMB (just using a fictional example here), I would read itwith interest. I wouldn’t necessarily AGREE with him all the time, but I would be interested in reading his opinion. BECAUSE I KNOW HE’S A SMART GUY.

There’s Do Z, claiming that the only reason Coldfire gets noticed on the board is because of his high post count, which is untrue.
There’s barflyer insulting Coldfire, Pepper, and the SDMB Administration, respectively.
Now, I would understand if you don’t consider these “attacks” (heck, I can see how you’d come to that conclusion), but just understand, there were quite a few ridiculous allegations made in this thread (such as the examples I posted above).
I think Coldfire’s ultimate point is this: If you don’t contribute to the SDMB community other than complaining, you really won’t be taken seriously in the slightest.
