This Season's Saturday Night Live

Does anyone else think the season so far has just been horribly unfunny? I think there have been three episodes so far, and other than Weekend Update, there have been almost no laughs.

I’m beginning to think that Will Ferrell was the soul of that show for the last five years, and his loss is a disaster.

the “snl roller coaster” rides again!

Verily, last night’s episode did suck. Though I did like the “…and Jim Jeffords – welcome to Hell” line at the beginning.

Well, yes, but then, I have thought that for many many years…

I liked the sushi bar skit last night.

Except for some of the skits during John McCain’s episode and most of the “Weekend Update” segments, the show has been very bad so far this season. I’ve felt they’ve been coasting on good will for a few years anyway, but they’ve really hit yet another lowpoint IMO.

I will say that I don’t miss Will Farrell much (except for playing Alex Trebeck and GW Bush). Most of the newer cast members are very bland, and the humor and rhythm of the show have gotten way too safe and stale. And what’s with having so many “featured” players right now. Call them what they are “the second string” and “newbies”.

The very reason I haven’t watched the show for a LONG time.

Sometimes if I’m near the TV when it’s on I’ll flip it on but by the first commercial I’m off doing something else.
