Replace { } with .
And to link to CNN, you use this code:

Just replace the curly brackets with square ones.

zev, I think that that’s exactly what he did, which is the cause of his problems. You’ve got to include the protocol in the URL, in this case, http, or it looks like a relative address, not an absolute one. Thus, the proper link would be
[[sup][/sup]url=“http://www.cnn.com”]The Cable News Network[[sup][/sup]/url]
which would turn into
The Cable News Network
