Last Monday I kind of panicked because during rehearsals I was told that starting Wednesday, we would have to come in at 6 PM instead of 6:30. Up to this point, I had (foolishly) assumed that rehearsals would always be at 6:30. In addition, the Director threated dire consequences to anybody who came in late, and the Director has no sympathy for us working stiffs juggling multiple part-time jobs.
I had scheduled myself carefully this month, because I knew I would be very busy with rehearsals. My goal had been to work as much as I could on days/times I didn’t have rehearsals, that way I’m not broke. Still, this forced me to have razor-thin windows of time between various jobs/tasks, meaning the whole day was rushrushrush.
Coming in 30 minutes earlier might not sound like much, but because my schedule was so precarious, it was devastating. The good news is that I finally got everything settled which is a relief, since I’m torn between two parties who each feel they should be my #1 priority :smack: The play is a very fun project, and while I don’t regret putting everything else on hold to see it through, sometimes it feels overwhelming trying to make everything work out.
