Thor : the Dark World (spoilers are boxed)

Or Prince Charming. Odd that he couldn’t get time off from Once Upon A Time.

He may have asked for waaaaayyy too much money for a member of the chorus.

Kat Dennings has a TV series and she was able to fit the movie into her schedule. If Josh Dallas just blew off the role, he was dumb - you get yourself into a major franchise you stay in it even if it’s a supporting role. It’s a paycheck and it associates your name with some big productions. As for the future, best case scenario is they’re looking to develop a Warriors Three movie in a few years; worst case scenario is it gives you more cred on the convention circuit.

Yep, Denise Crosby never has to pay to go to a science fiction convention again.

oh, god - I can’t believe he doesn’t know this…

“Conservation of exposition”. I like that phrase.

Is there a Law to describe it, or a formula to express it?

Don’t knock it. People need to make a living. Selling your autograph beats bussing tables at Denny’s.

My first thought on reading this was “Eehhh. Convention geeks or Denny’s customers… that’s a tough one.” What shift are we talking at Denny’s?

That doesn’t really mean anything. Dennings role in Thor might have been big enough that the film makers were willing to accommodate her TV schedule, but felt it was easier to replace Dallas. Or it might have been Dennings show that was willing to be accommodating, while the producers for Dallas’s show weren’t. Or it could have just been dumb luck that her TV schedule and film schedule lined up, and his didn’t.

Kat Dennings was far more noticeable as the sassy sidekick than either actor playing Fandral. Besides, with wig + moustache + beard, even my daughters, who are big Once Upon a Time fans, didn’t realize it was a different actor in Thor 2.

Best Thor Merchandise ever

I think that the new guy did a better job as Fandral, anyway. OK, he wasn’t a major character in either one, but he stood out more in the sequel.

It was sold, was it the cat Mjlonir?

Heck, I’d buy one, and I’m not even a Thor fan.

Mew-Mew!!!

So, apparently I’m the only one who doesn’t get the reference. Was it something from the first movie that I’m not remembering?

It’s a plush hammer with a cat face. I’m not sure it’s any deeper than that.

Yes. When depowered Thor declared he was going to retrieve Mjolnir, Kat Dennings replied “Meow Meow? What’s Meow Meow?”

Here’s a clip.

Second movie too

Finally saw it.

  1. I would pay to watch the a movie consisting solely of Hemsworth and Hiddleson dialogues. Natalie Portman OTH, my favourite actress but its clear that George Lucas was not the only problem in the prequels,

  2. Re the last scene and its buildup am I the only one who thought that

that Odin recognised the soldier as Loki, rather than asking about Loki’s body?

  1. Where was S.H.I.E.L.D? Is this the first movie where they have been absent, since Edward Norton’s Hulk?
