Got nostalgic for EB and EB2 and played the downloaded games for a while this afternoon. It brought back nice memories of Christmas (I know it’s July, dammit! :))
and so I thought I would write an e-mail and thank them for the games. I went to Vectrix, which is the home company for Nstorm where the games were created and was surprised to see a section called “Case Proceedings”, when I clicked it, it gave me the bankruptcy info…
Well, damn!
They won all kinds of awards with their games and I am sorry to see they are gone. I was looking forward to seeing a new 2001 Christmas Elf game from them…
…but NSTORM still has an active website, and you can still download at least Elf Bowling 2, (although I didn’t see EB1 on the list). My point was that since the parent company went under, we wouldn’t be seeing any new “Elf” games. If someone else knows better, then please enlighten me, because I wouldn’t mind being wrong on this one at all, believe me!
The first time I played it, I threw the bowling ball so hard and so off-course that it knocked over the reindeer. You know, the one that stands next to the alley. Anyway, I love that game.
Quasimodem, how about a site for those of us who haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing Elf Bowling? I want to download it before they close down forever.
The administrators at work were taken in by the “Elf Bowling Virus” hoax, and went absolutely berserk trying to get all copies of Elf Bowling off the NYS Court System’s computers. Pretty funny, if it weren’t for the fact that we were deprived of Elf Bowling for no good reason.
I loved EB1, but I thought the second version was a bit lame.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the company installed spyware on your PC when you downloaded the game, which is why they made it freely available. Can anyone confirm this?
