“He likes it!! Mikey likes it!”
Thread winner!
Anybody remember the rest of “Western Family can, Western Family can, put the sweet taste of <some stuff> in a Western Family can” ?
I thought it was “He like’s it! Hey, Mikey!”
Is your dog getting enough cheese?
I can’t begin to do this one justice.
There were a couple of different ones. I remember this one, too.
“Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.”
You can trust your car to the man who wears the star. The Big, Bright Texaco STAR!
“It’s the water.”
Sometimes this earworm makes me regret ever living in Seattle.
“Open Every Day! In Federal Way!” <- was that a car dealership? I can’t remember.
Does anyone remember: “Dirt can’t hide… from intensified Tide” ?
I have some old magazines with cigarette ads. One (for Old Gold) “Not a Cough in a Carload.”
And now, from central Indiana-
nooobody!
And it only costs a dollar!
Oh, no, you’re not getting off that easily. Native Marylander from the '60s, and I remember he said it twice (cigarette in his hand, maybe?).
What was the product?
“That ping, that knock, that funny noise”
“Wake Up!” (this was a local furniture salesman with a buzz-cut who pounded on the inside of you TV screen in the middle of the night)
The wording might be slightly off. The tune was Blue Danube.
Choose Rival dog food [arf arf arf arf]. Choose Rival dog food [arf arf arf arf].
Your dog’s eyes will shiiiiiiiine, coat look fiiiiiiiiiiiiine, when you feed him RIIII-val dog food. [arf arf]
Only remember the beginning of this one:
My beer is Reingold, the dry beer. Think of Reingold whenever you buy bear. It’s not bitter, not sweet, [blah blah] dry Reingold beer.
Announcer: Plunk your magic twanger, Froggy.
Minor explosion of smoke on top of clock case [?]
Silly looking frog bounces up and down saying, gravelly voice, “Hi ya kids, hi ya hi ya hi ya.” And the crowd went wild.
A cartoony dog voice with a real dog being filmed: “GRAVY!?”
Nooobody can beat a Bob Catterson price! Noooooobody!!
Bob sold Buicks in Indianapolis.
We had that same commercial in 1960s-1970s Baltimore (maybe DC), but I’m having trouble nailing down which dealer. That “nooooooooobody” guy was apparently an actor who made different versions for various cities. I think there was one in Cincinnati (Ford dealership) that got attached to the Bengals somehow.
More research is called for and I’m on it. I’ll keep you posted.
