Thou shalt not murder or kill?

I saw a show on the History Channel about the Old Testament. Some scholar said that the original Commandment was "Thou shalt not murder, as opposed to "Thou shalt not kill. Is this true? And is there a difference in the Hebrew language?

The original text is lo tirtzach, which means “you will not murder” (the phrasing is archaic). “You will not kill” would be “lo taharog.”

This has been discussed before.

Sorry, I wasn’t here when it was discussed, and a search of “commandment murder” returned 0 results.

Forgot my manners. Thank you for the reply, Alessan :).
