A fanatic is a man who does what he thinks the Lord would do if He knew the facts of the case. (Finley Peter Dunne)
For Torino 2006:
May joy and good fellowship reign, and in this manner, may the Olympic Torch pursue its way through ages, increasing friendly understanding among nations, for the good of a humanity always more enthusiastic, more courageous, and more pure.

I know that’s a song by Fall Out Boy.
Here’s mine:
It was when we first went into Iraq and I was laying on top of the helocopter when a Cobra flew overhead and I was then caked in dirt. I then realized that I could be in college right now sleeping next to a hot, naked, drunk blonde chick. It then hit me, I made some poor decisions in life.
This was told to me by some guy I knew.
George Orwell: "We are all capable of believing things which we know to be untrue, and then, when we are finally proved wrong, impudently twisting the facts so as to show that we were right."
A man I would have loved to hang out with.
I’ll also add this one, though much cheesier.
Women give and forgive, while men get and forget.
Sometimes only one person is missing and the whole world seems depopulated.
Some people are like Slinkies: not particularly useful for anything, yet you can’t help but laugh when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs.

Life is hard ---- then you die
Once upon a time, a much maligned conservative PM of Australia (Malcolm Fraser) uttered the words: Life wasn’t meant to be easy in response to his harsh policies affecting people on welfare benefits. Many people (myself included) saw this as the ultimate in hypocrisy, given that Malcolm had come from an advantaged background that made his own life easy in the extreme.
However, in my advancing years, and with many eons of experience under my belt, I can now say that “Life is NOT meant to be easy”, regardless of where you came from.
And if it** is** easy, you ain’t doing it right!!
