So this is sort of like the tea party on the veranda that overlooks the food fight?
Not knowing what the knicker-knotting was about, I checked out the first and eleventh () page of the thread and couldn’t see that the discourse had progressed much.
So if there’s still some Earl Gray left, I’ll have a cup, please, with lemon.
I want to grade spelling sentences! With a big ol’ red pencil! What grade?
I brought some banana bread, who’s got milk?
I spent this morning trying to understand what the big deal is, and opened about ten linked threads, and it still doesn’t make sense to me.
Not a bad analogy. Though since I’m marooned at work, it’s more like the veranda of an old-fashioned Sanatorium, located on a nice, green hill circled by discreet iron fences that keep the inmates confined. There is a nasty train crash down in the village but since I can’t really do anything about it, might as well sip my tea and glare at anybody who tries to take My Trashcan because all those tissues are mounting up.
Good suggestion, Robin, but watching Old Yeller would near destroy me about now. Why is so danged hard to remember how to breathe?
Oooh, banana bread, thank you thank you thank you! And I’ve got the milk!
I agree, the “big deal” doesn’t make much sense.
i’ve got girl scout cookies!
karyn, you can grow catnip outside? does it get really big?
for some reason my cats seem to think that christmas cactus is catnip. they can’t seem to leave it alone. perhaps i’ll try getting a catnip plant or 2.
I wasn’t even aware until today I was supposed to be twisted. Since I’ve been here almost 10 years without ever posting in the Pit, I think the new rules won’t phase me.
Pass the brownies (are they made from real scouts?) - God’ll forgive me.
StG
I’m getting Girl Scout cookies this weekend! I’m seriously amused that they’re being distributed during Lent this year.
Robin
did nobody
Bring Pie?
Oh the humanity, I feel my nickers constricting…no, no wait a minute…it’s passed, low and loose, low and loose.
It’s a mint, so not only is it easy to grow but it will take over and be very hard to eradicate if you change your mind. It’s best to grow it in pots and contain it. You can start from seed or buy a start or 2 at a garden center. One plant will spread enough to fill up a decent sized container in a season.
It’s so unfair. No one comes and brings you cookies in the boonies.
My wife is a troop leader. I have (no lie) about 20 CASES of cookies still in my garage, down from the 220 we had at the beginning of the month.
Damn you, Peanut Butter Patties and Tagalongs!
i’m in the coolish northeast so hopefully it will work in the house for a bit. i did have a catnip plant, winken the wonderful loved it to death! i think it lasted about 2 weeks.
It is humorous when your not involved in the hysteria. I’m glad I found a few sane people and best yet they’re having a party on the hilltop overlooking the fight. Shall we watch the festivities and listen to the band playing Nearer My God To Me? (Titanic)
I’ve been playing Oblivion for about three days now. It sure is fun and I love the immersion environment.
My knickers were in a twist but then I changed to boxers and felt a heckuva lot better. Can’t swear at each other? Oh well, I gave up swearing for Lent anyway. I’ll just sit on the couch in the corner by the window and try to memorize my lines.
If there’s a cup left, I’d love some tea. Sometimes there’s nothing like a hot cup of tea and a bright sunbeam to make you fall aslee…
Lucky bastard, I’m *this *close to finally getting a 360 and that’s the first thing I’m going to play when I do. I even fired up my old Xbox this weekend and tried to remember what I was doing in my last autosave in Morrowind that was dated 12/16/06. I couldn’t remember so I just started killing everyone with magic spells. Oddly satisfying.
Anyone want some passionflowwer tea? I got some the other day, and its very good.
So what are we doing about dinner here? Should I pick up some pizzas or something?
Enough with the tea already too, anyone got anything harder?
I’m late for tea, it seems. But we had a beautiful day here today, sunny and mild and in the mid-60’s. It’s only for a day or so, but I’ve got the windows open and I’m having a couple of glasses of cheap wine. Inner Stickler, I like when you’re sitting and looking and sitting and looking…and suddenly, you wake up.
I’ve chosen to avoid and ignore the drama. Life’s too short…
Instead, I just pulled a carrot cake out of the oven - doesn’t it smell loverly?? I’ll be frosting it - cream cheese frosting, of course - then you can dig in. Being a sheet cake, it’s easier to serve.
Cocoa would be nice - does that go with carrot cake??
I want lots of milk.
