Thread killers - A Dirge

A thread was born, AuntPam’s creation
About thread killers- a new appelation?
“Moloster” was suggested and quickly affirmed
As the way that these people would henceforth be termed.

I sing of the thread that would not die
Day after day people clicked 'Post Reply"
Everyone vied for their own right to boast
“I was the killer, **I **had the last post!”

All hopes were dashed, the thread carried through
To four, then five pages it blossomed anew.
But as all things must, the thread lost it’s bloom
And now has been gently laid in it’s tomb.

So now let us vow, my SDMB friends
Never to let this happen again.

I refuse to let this masterpiece sink to the bottom of the page. On another note, if I knew there were so many Chiefs here,(Chief Crunch, Chief Scott, chief, Chef Troy<kidding>)
I’d have chosen a different name.

This is just so beautiful–<tries to control tears>–I gotta go back to Thread Killers and tell them about it.

Damn…somebody took it out back and killed it.

My official statement:

Thread Killers, Thread Killers, we knew you well
Thread Killers, Thread Killers, you sure were swell
Now it’s time to move on
You truely are gone
Thread Killers is finished… oh well

Well I would never want to let a thread that’s suffering so, to live on in painful agony the way “thread killers” did.

We must not merely mourn the death of “Thread Killers.”

Take the lessons of “Thread Killers” with you wherever you go.

Wherever there is a thread that quickly plummets to Page 2; “Thread Killers” will be there.

Whenever my name sits in the ‘last poster’ column of a thread, like a beacon for all to see, like the Citgo sign behind the Green Monster in Fenway Park, “Thread Killers” will be there.

Whenever I post in a lively discourse, and my contribution makes those who follow me pause, with a look on their face like they just sniffed a fart, and hit the ‘back’ arrow, “Thread Killers” will be there, too.

We must remember. We must learn. We must vow never to forget.

Don’t forget this guy cheiflaffitup and yes, he did spell “chief” incorrectly.
