Now WTH did I do?

The thread on ANONYMOUS–the hackers that are threatening and are probably capable of “shutting down the internet” tomorrow. I’m new here. Wrong board? OK. But a lock?

.
Looks pretty simple to me.
Feel free.
You can talk about Anonymous if you want, but the topic like “Have you heard this rumor?” doesn’t belong in GQ. You could post something like that in MPSIMS if you want to discuss it.
Colibri
It wasn’t clear to me what your intent was in posting the thread. "Did you hear the latest one about “ANONYMOUS?” would be most appropriate for IMHO or possibly MPSIMS. But the dismissive nature of your last line, “I forget what they’re pissed at–oh internet privacy,” implied that you were interested in criticizing them, which would have been most appropriate for either Great Debates or The Pit.
As I said, you are perfectly free to open a new thread in an appropriate forum, but you should indicate something about what the question or basis of discussion is. I thought it was better to close it and let you try again rather than deciding what you intended.
Colobri,
I am new here. I don’t know what goes where precisely. You could’ve just moved it.
ANd people have styles and personality. One can’t assume that if a poster says “Oh yeah” that it means Ho Hum. Think of it as livestream.
I’ve been a mod or a sysop one place or another for 16 years. I’m here two days and I think I got 3 mod nips already. Consequently I’m losing the love.
Your seeming lack of board culture doesn’t support that. So far, you haven’t done anything horrible. You just don’t seem to grasp the the forum entitled “General Questions” is for just that-a question.
What part of “not sure which forum you really wanted” is confusing you? Just read the forum descriptions and open a new thread in the right one. No harm no foul.
Should have titled this “Making a mountain out of a mole hill”
The “nips” were as follows: you were told one post was off-topic and asked to stay on topic, you were asked not to calls people “Japs” because it’s offensive, and you had a thread locked because it was in the wrong forum and didn’t have a clear topic. None of those mod actions have any consequences for you whatsoever.
I explained why I didn’t move it (twice). It was for your benefit, so you could start a new thread in the forum that was most appropriate for your intent.
We can only go by what you post. You didn’t provide enough information for me to determine what you intended. This board is not a livestream kind of place.
You’ve made 32 posts in 3 days, which is a lot. I would suggest that you lurk for awhile without posting to get a better sense of the board culture and conventions. Try reading the rules and FAQ. And when you do post, try to put some thought into it. Don’t post the first thing that pops into your head.
But I get lots of clicks, baby.
I read the rulz. You know no profanity and all that. Yet the shit word is all over the board. Troubles me none–just saying.
That’s not the objective of this board.
Like I said, you should try lurking until you understand the conventions and standards of this board.
This indicates to me that you care little for the rules, and you are concerned more about the “clicks.” If you continue along this path, you’ll be history in 5-4-3-2…
Wow this week! So many brazen jive talking unapologetic style postings
I’m starting to feel like an old geezer who has kids all over his lawn. Did we get mentioned on Jersey Shore or something?
No, you can curse relatively fucking freely.
I think you fucking read the wrong fucking rules, and shit.
No profanity? Where the fuck is that written?
… and shit.
On Ed Zotti’s chest, in semen. Don’t ask me how I know.
Oh, we know how you know. And that’s gross, man.
EDIT: Well, maybe if you fried it first…
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve read that line here I’d have… well I’d have several nickels is all I’m saying.
