Is there a way to keep up with current threads after they have ‘fallen off’? I notice that they frequently return. Doe you have to bookmark them?
Thanks

Grrr… do, not “doe”. Yes, I previewed.
Above the first post, click on thread tools, then on “subscribe to this thread”. You can email notifications when the thread is posted to.
In addition to what the ever-helpful CarnalK says here, which is the ideal way to track individual threads of interest, you can also reset your individual preferences for each forum (GQ, MPSIMS, the Pit, etc.). There’s a default setting of today, last two days, the last week, or whatever for each, which you can reset to your own preference. This keeps a thread on your menu longer.
In addition to the others’ comments, if you have a particular thread in mind, you can just search for it. When I wanted to add to my GQ thread about my wisdom tooth, I just searched for all threads started by Canadjun since I couldn’t remember what the title of the thread was.
You can also, once you’ve subscribed to a thread or threads, hit the User CP link at the top of the page. That brings you to your control panel where you can view all your subscribed threads, whether or not there’s been any activity.
If you posted to the thread, you can also click on Quick Links in the page header, then My Profile, then Find all posts by Don’t fight the hypothetical
Wow, great advice all. I knew about ‘Search’ but it takes time and I didn’t want to tax the hamster.
Thanks again.
Hey, helping the noobs makes all Dopers happiers.
That’s what I do. I set it so the board automatically subscribes me to all threads I post to, then just hit the User CP first whenever I drop by to see what’s new in those discussions. I tell it just to subscribe me, not send email notifications.
